I nominate myself. Yesterday I was babysitting a friends kid and we were walking up the stairs. I stopped to bend over and pick up a toy and she hopped right into me and ended up falling head over foot down the last 3 stairs. She ended up breaking her arm which makes me feel even more terrible. Dh keeps telling me accidents happen but I can't imagine if it was my daughter that broke her arm while someone else was watching her.
@Mztwilson that sucks but hopefully the Mom understands that accidents happen. I know this doesn't help the way you are feeling but it's not like you pushed her.
@mztwilson - that sucks... sorry that happened! Hopefully mom was/is understanding.
My 1st TW goes to Target. A few friends / family cannot make it to my shower and have been sending gifts off my target registry. When the gift arrives, the only way I know who it is from is to look at the billing slip. Fine, not that big of a deal but I was telling one friend about it and she said that she filled out a card with a personal message on the Target website. WTF Target?! If someone takes the time to write something, shouldn't you include that?! At least on the packing slip?!
My 2nd TW goes to BofA. I appreciate that you're trying to keep my account info safe and secure but issuing a new debit card every 3 months is a PIA. I can't remember to do daily tasks let alone begin to think what bills I have automatically paid using my debit card. This should make for a fun month trying to switch over the payments I have but will inevitably forget.
My freaking sister in law is a twatwaffle today! Maybe I'm just done putting up with her bullshit. I texted her to let her know that her moms surgery went great, no signs of cancer and the only thing the bitch could say was "she didn't tell me it was today" . I'm pretty sure she did. I'm also pretty sure that you're an asshole who wouldn't show up for the big scary one that was first where she was in danger of losing her entire bladder. Why would she expect you to show up to a routine one? Then she asked why I was still in town. Well, someone has to be here for her. Would you expect her to go through it on her own asshole? What a fuck head!!!!!! Good lord! (Thanks for the vent ladies)
June '14 September Siggy challenge- Favorite things about fall
@lyracelesti the little girl is only 2. Which is a big reason I feel so terrible. My LO is the same age and I just keep thinking I don't know what I'd do if it was her that fell and broke her arm.
So sorry @Mztwilson. I would feel so horrible too, but like others have said accidents do happen and it doesn't make you a twatwaffle.
I nominate my neighbor who is having car trouble. He leaves for work really early (about 5am) and revs the engine over and over trying to get his car to start and then cusses loudly and slams the hood every. single. morning. It's been going on for over a week now and wakes me up a good hour before my alarm.
@jshrop - that sucks that your SIL is like that!! I went through something similar with my grandmother. She had an emergency surgery for colon cancer (and subsequent treatment) and my aunt, her daughter, never came to visit. I was amazed that her own daughter didn't come to see her through any of the treatment and then, didn't even come for the funeral. Such a shame! Sorry you're dealing with this but glad that your MIL has you!!
@jshrop - It's a terrible thing to say, but karma is a bitch and I hope that one day your SIL finds herself in a predicament where her daughter has nothing to do with her. I'm a spiteful little thing and all the stories I hear about her are just downright terrible. How can you not care about your own mother??? And I'm also with @yellowbird219 - I'd like to punch her, slap her, and remind her of the important things in life...which is NOT HERSELF!
June 2014 - June Siggy Challenge - Favorite Hottie
@mrsdbc this is exactly why I'm thankful I can finally wear my flip flops. I did not want to have to suffer the indignity of my DH having to put on my socks/shoes.
@mrsdbc I only wear shoes that don't tie but this was from before I got pregnant, I can't tie shoes, yup I said it! Well I can tie but not very well and they always come undone. Now that I am pregnant there is no way I would be able to tie them. I did wear my hiking boots this weekend but I just make DH tie them for me
My TW is my insurance company for giving me the run around and playing their stupid games.
However all the waffles in the world go to the lady at the hospital who is taking care of said insurance company for me and explaining everything to me and making me feel so much better!
@jshrop your SIL makes me mad and I don't even know her
@mrsdbc and everyone else, I totally concur! I am actually contemplating buying a pair of Crocs. Slip-on that don't require tying and have room for my feet to expand during the day. I will also shamefully admit I did check out Amazon for the spiral no tie type of shoelaces also.
My nomination is for the guy in the drive thru this morning who ordered seriously like 20 bags of food. I got stuck in the drive thru for almost 20 minutes and was late to work all for a $1 cup of coffee. Seriously, go inside if you are getting that much...jackass.
My coworker, a different one this time, who doesn't understand the concept of waiting until a meeting to go over an issue and instead comes to me on my lunch break to bug me about it in the hopes that he won't need to come to the meeting. There will be a meeting, get over it.
I definitely nominate my neighbour this week. I think I nominated him last week too, so, two Tuesdays in a row!
To recap, we need to do some work on the one side of our house. Our house runs right along the edge of the property line, so in order to access that side of the house, we need to go onto his property. We have contractors coming to do the work this Thursday, so last week, DH went over to talk to him and make sure it was ok for us to go on his driveway in order to lean a ladder against our house and get the work done. It will take the contractors maybe 3 or 4 hours.
Twatwaffle neighbour agreed as long as we provide a) proof of the contractor's insurance to relieve him of any liability should someone get hurt b) a letter from a lawyer stating explicitly what work we'll be doing and when the work will be completed and c) $150. All so we can lean a ladder against our house for a few hours.
Sigh. We're complying with his wishes as best we can because we don't want to lose our appointment with the contractors. We're having A/C put in - finally! - and if we wait the 6-8 weeks it would take to get a right-to-entry permit through the city, we have no idea how much we'll be boiling in our new attic bedroom. It's just so frustrating because most reasonable people wouldn't have a problem with the work we're doing, especially in this city where lot sizes are small and houses are close together. Even the A/C company said they've never had such problems with a neighbour before.

He wants you to PAY him to put a ladder on his property?? What was the process you'd have to go through if he didn't agree?

We would have to apply for a right-of-entry permit through the city, which would not be difficult, but would take 6-8 weeks and cost us $270 in administrative fees. In a way, after hearing his demands, we kind of want to go this route just to show him we don't have to follow his unreasonable, controlling requests, but we also really just want to get this work done.

That honorary invite thread was to die for. I read all 17 pages.
I'm on page 11 and almost want to resurrect my knot to sleuth out more details on the "evil queen bitch". I need to follow more people on Pinterest anyway...
@rachel5130 I still check in there every once and a while, but mostly on the honeymoon board because I like talking about vacations. I was alerted to this gem from one of the girls on my FB groups that's made up of a bunch of ladies from one of TK boards that we were all on a few years ago.

@Pepper6 - Please don't think I was referring to you! Several women on here said things like, "I've been a regular for x years, this is the craziest thing ever!" Again, not meant about you.
Foot, meet mouth. Lol
Oh no, I didn't think that...it's just that because I still post occasionally, I also see people that I sort of recognize back from when I used to post a lot when I was planning my wedding. I can understand why they might though when you get gems like that every once and a while.
Whoever decided shoes needed laces get the tw nom. You sir can go to hell
I needed this laugh! My laptop has been down, my bump app has not been loading and my work has blocked access for the bump. I finally got on and can see post!
My coworker gets nominated her life is hard she's single no responsibilities and so tired she decided she needed to snore behind me. There's no sleeping in the ER! I told her that and she said she's only sleeping because there is no one important here. Mind you Tuesdays are lead days meaning all boss's are working and she's speaking to a manager. She proceeded to tell me she was sleep deprived and on antibiotics, umm your speaking to someone who is 32 weeks pregnant, who can't sleep, has tons of pressure walking/sitting/laying, nauseous from my 4x a day antibiotics and you're gonna cry because I told you not to sleep on the job! Give me a break!
Sorry for all the exclamation points that's my angry typing.
My TW nomination is anyone who asks DH about baby stuff. HE HAS NO CLUE. I am doing everything, I am the mother, why not ask me? You have no problem calling me when he won't answer, or telling me important family/friends updates because he won't respond, why is this different? Now I have the pleasure of returning stuff we don't need because you didn't ask me and subsequently learn of our updated registry. Balls.
Umm... Sorry that people ask the father about the baby? Cuz men totes are clueless about everything, right?
And it totally sucks that people are asking questions about what to get you for a baby gift. Those selfish buggers are clearly going through the gift buying process *all wrong*.
@Pepper6 is it awful I just turned on Mickey Mouse clubhouse to distract DS for an hour so I could read that? holy shit my brain hurts that was so good. thank you for that
I nominate my ob. My appointment was scheduled for an hour ago and she has yet to arrive. I have been sitting here for over an hour waiting for the dr to show up. Now the waiting room is crowded but at least I go in first..
I am also a tw because I was gonna bring a snack and left it at home bc I said I was first appointment I'll be in and out..
This is gold! and I'm only on page 1. Please tell me it gets better
Seriously, I can't even get through the OP and I'm dying.
Eta: I totally found BSC bride on Pinterest too - this TK thread is a fantastic read!
They took the thread down! I am so sad. I got to page 14.
I am so pissed! I only got to page 2 and went to go to page 3 and "Discussion Not Found" appears. WTH? Damnit.
TBH, I think it's a good thing they took the thread down. As much as the bride in question committed a major faux pas - for lack of a better term. 'Honourary invitation', WTH? - I don't think the OP should have been using her real name and dropping clues to make it easy for a whole message board community of people to find her. She could have shared the story while still respecting the privacy of those involved.
DD1: June 2014 - VBM4lyfe DD2: October 2016 DC3: coming May 2019
I think it got taken down because there was a different thread where people found the OPs wedding website and were making rude comments on her guest book, AND someone even found and posted her cell phone number. They were probably covering their asses because there was pseudo personal info involved in this one too.
It's too bad though, that thread was entertaining...
