Re: Worst thing you did during labor?

  • I forgot to tell everyone to keep it off social media, and was therefore bombarded with update requests for all 18 hours of labor.

  • i was induced at 39 weeks due to insufficient fluid surrounding the baby. when i got there i had no idea they inserted a catheter "disposal purposes" so i get the epidural and my nurse is putting in the catheter and i have the sudden urge to "pee" and i mean i have to go NOW. so im whispering to the nurse ihave to go, please hurry, please! i get embarrassed and kick everyone out. my sisters, my mom, my husband! as soon as they leave i feel this sudden release, and i instantly turn beet red  and start crying because think i peed on myself. the nurse starts laughing hysterically and says " oh honey, you didn't pee! your water broke" so embarrasing.
  • We got the tires changed on the car while I was in labor...that was fun :/
  • the worst thing I did during labour was kick the nurse in the face for touching my blankets, peed all over another nurse due to lots of fluid :\">  and refused to hold my boyfriends hand because I didn't want to hurt him (even though thatd be impossible), awell as yelling really loud, my mom thought I was the hulk or going through an excercism. lol
  • I cried hysterical when it came time to do the c-section, and it was not because I was sad I could not advance it was because I was thiniking something horrible is going to go wrong and the baby will not have a mommy... Stupid hormones

  • I didn't really do anything bad, but I remember that after they broke my water when I was about 6 cm and fully effaced, I kept saying I was really sorry I was making a mess all over the floor. They were urging me to stand and get into the shower a few steps away, so I was so reluctant to get off the table because it was just endless gushing. They laughed at me for how sorry I was!
  • I pooped a lot.
  • I was doing Harry Potter spells on the nurses and doctors. I am pushing 30. Oh drugs...
  • I asked the Dr doing my c-section to feel free to give me some lipo & a small tuck while the appropriate areas were already open. She said she hears that a lot.

  • No I was way too polite. I'm kicking people out of the room this time lol
  • I was apologizing for not "trimming the hedges" better.  I was so big I could not see and the hubby was not help either

  • I yelled at my poor hubby because he was petting my leg that was half numb, but I felt the tingling of him rubbing it I couldn't concentrate on pushing so I yelled at him to stop with the rubbing!! He gave me this look like he felt terrible because he just didn't know what else to do to try and give me support since my mom was on the front end keeping me cool with a wet towel. I should of had them just switch lol

  • My legs and everything were so numb from me pushing the button on the epidural that I couldn't move at all and the doctor got mad at me so told me to stop pushing the button. Well, the epidural wore off and then it was time to push and I pushed for 2 hours with no progress. I got so angry at the nurse for not listening to me that I needed a c-section. I didn't like her attitude with me and the pain just got to me so much that I got angry and ripped the blood pressure cuff off of my arm and threw it at her. Then I asked if I needed the pulse ox thing on my finger and I said "the answer is probably yes" in my snottiest of voices. LOL  I did eventually have a c-section.
  • It’s a long story, but I randomly went from a 3 on the pain scale to about an 11 within a split second, and the nurse called in the anesthesiologist to give me my epidural. He briefed me on what to expect, and my dear husband started asking him super detailed questions about extremely rare complications (even though we researched it ahead of time and I planned on getting one). I finally lost it and snapped, “Just shut up and let him give me the damn epidural!!!” I later apologized and told him I appreciated him looking out for my safety, since I was in too much pain to think clearly. Haha!

  • honestly, I wouldn't change anything about labor except I might have stayed home a little longer before we went to the hospital. We went all natural and I had a birth plan and midwife care. They pretty much left us alone except for occassional checks to see if we needed anything and DH called them in when my body started to push. Pushing was all of a half hour since he was halfway down the birth canal by the time I told DH to get the midwife. We should have went home with the billiblanket earlier, we stayed an extra day but that's nothing to do with labor

  • I screamed "Fuck yo mama!" without thinking about it when the RN gave me a morphine shot in my ass.  My friend was there too, but not MH, we were all laughing, it was hysterical. Something I would have done differently: MH is not allowed to sleep in the room with me next time.  I got NO sleeps and was beyond exhausted by the time she came outta me, 40 hours post induction.

  • First I went in 12 hours after labor started and water broke. I had no pain and didn't realize it. I was devastated I did something wrong, but they said her head was probably too big and that wasn't the reason she got stuck (38 hours of labor, + induction ended in emergency CS with complications).

then during all the crazyness, I wanted a lot of clear liquid (water and ice chips) but i vomited all over myself twice from drinking only that (ew!)

Also my water finally broke during labor and I wet the nurse....Opps! Blushed with embrassment but oh well they probably seen worse.

So, I am a Peds nurse and delivered at the hospital I work at.  After 3 days of induction, over 24 hours of active labor, and 4 hours of pushing...my Doctor colleagues (including resident physicians) were required to attend the birth.  I. was. mortified.  At this point, I was so hot that I took everything off, so stark naked, in the throws of labor, exhausted, pale, pissed at my nurse, crying because my labor was NOTHING I had wanted (too many interventions, facing C/S), and yelling at family/staff to "STOP saying I'm almost there, you've been saying that for hours and I'm not getting anywhere" LOL.  They were mostly nice about the whole situation and stayed in their respective corner of the room and averted their eyes. I had a work phone on me and kept texting a couple of the one's DH and I play soccer with to make sure they weren't on that week.  I had the nurses downstairs do some recon work and tell me which docs were on-call that week and give them a heads up that they need to stay out until the last second and when they got there, I kept saying 'I am SO sorry you have to see this" and "I'm so sorry you're seeing me like this".  LOL, oh brother.

  • I delivered DS while my body was fighting a Crohns flare up. After being numb from my c/s, I laid in recovery with hubby and baby bedside, and he said, "What's that smell? Did you go?". My response was, " I don't know....Did I??!!". So as soon as the very patient nurse cleaned me up, we had the exact same conversation. It happened again!
