Terrible week for me. I feel like I flipped a switch and my body is just breaking down as expected in late pregnancy (I guess). I had pain in my leg/hip (where my legs connect with my hips) - I guess it might be called pelvic girdle pain. Well it was so bad that I couldn't even walk without pain for a few days.
I did manage a 1 hour swim, and 2 - 30 minute walks and a few lunges/squats. Threw a bachelorette party on Sat and a bridal shower on Sunday so no time either of those days to do anything besides eat ALL the food.
I admire and envy anyone still running! I'm 31 weeks now and on Saturday I was lucky to walk 3/4 mile! I've been cramping and what feels like BH contractions. Yoga, low impact aerobics, and tamed-down pilates are all I can manage at the moment. Pregnancy seems to have sucked the muscle tone from my arms and legs, and doing weights doesn't seem to make a difference! I don't have access to pool, and I'm actually grateful because I can't imagine putting on my bathing suit right now! lol Just trying to keep moving.
hey ladies! i had a great week of working out, but missed my run. i plan to make up my runs this week. i went to bootcamp/crossfit four days which included a lot of rowing. feels great to include an exercise that mimics the benefits of running but without the harsh impact. managed to fit in a couple yoga classes too.
again, i am proud of us ladies! anyone else feel that working out helps with sleeping? i really think keeping my regular schedule with workouts has enabled me to sleep better throughout.
@Kinipela7 so sorry to hear about your hip pain! glad the pool is still an option for you
I had a pretty good week. Got 3 runs in and 1 yoga class. Not as much total mileage as I'd like but we had a lot of other commitments that limited the time I had available to squeeze extra miles in. Goals for this week are to clean up my eating and get 4 days of running in, plus one day of yoga.
Has anyone started thinking about what their workout plan is for after baby? I plan to integrate a lot more strength training to get back to my pre-pregnancy body so I'm thinking of getting Jillian Michaels' 30 day shred and Tracy Anderson's post pregnancy workout videos so I can work out at home in those beginning weeks/months.
Post-baby I plan on also doing Jillian's 30-day shred. It's a fantastic workout in a short time which will be really helpful. I plan to also ease back into running and then when I feel like I can handle a running schedule to sign up for a race and train for it (distance to be determined). Also, lots and lots of walking with the baby!
I went for a 1mi walk with my family yesterday evening and I desperately wanted to bust out into a full run. I MISS it so much!!!! My pubic bone just wont let me. It barely lets me roll over in bed at night. I can't wait to get back at it afterwards.
I finished my first and last pregnant fun run last weekend. Felt great, albeit slow, the whole time. It was 5 miles. I went in prepared to walk the last mile or more if necessary, but a slow pace (11 min miles) allowed me to keep truckin' to the end.
It felt great to finish and definitely helped me sleep hard that night.
Not the best week, not the worst! I ran only twice, like 5 miles total. I did do yoga during my lunch 2 days tho, really enjoyed it!
I plan on taking it easy until I feel comfortable easing back into working out. I've heard a lot of women say they wish they has let themselves heal longer. I might start walking before 6 weeks but probably nothing else. I'll start jogging when my body feels ready!
I can't believe it's already 3rd tri... I'm actually impressed by myself that I still even move at all!!!
