Decor advice

Ok, I'm at a loss as to what to do with the interior of my door...
When we first moved in I tried to clean it up with a magic eraser. Obviously, I stopped when I realized how it was removing paint/ discoloring the door near the handle and lock. Now I just don't know what to do with it. All the trim in our house is natural so painting the trim white isn't an option. Do I paint the interior door? If so what color? White, red, other?
I Also attached a pic of the exterior of the door, needs some cleaning and touch up, but you get the idea.
The color on the walls is a light blue.

Suggestions? Ideas?

I'm horrible about decor.  But I have to say I love your front door, it's so "amywalt" to me!

What about sanding and staining? Or just using that magic eraser everywhere (to even out the tone) then staining?

I never thought about staining it, I don't think I can sand it and stain it because it's metal or something. But that is an idea I wonder if I could somehow stain it or do something to make it look natural still?

I don't know what colour I'd paint it, but seeing how it says "welcome" on the outside", I'd love to see something like "See you soon" written on the inside
