Guess what fun new thing I got?

Shingles.

I guess the stress of pregnancy, grad school, and parenting a preteen got the best of my immune system and broke me out in an especially sexy rash.

Anyone else have any odd happenings as of late? (Minus the precious, albeit parasitic, being growing inside of you)?

Oh sad! I actually know of quite a few ladies who got shingles while they were pregnant. Not fun at all! Be really careful if the rash is close to your eyes or on your head.
Hope you feel better soon! Shingles can be very painful! Sorry you're going through that.

Oh no! I got shingles 2 days before my wedding! They are no fun. Don't itch or stress over them, it'll make them worse. Feel better soon!

Thanks, all. It is contained to my left arm, but has moved to my thumb, which is painful.

Plus? A week home from clinic/school as I work with the medically fragile.

Con (slight pro...)? I'm eating. Everything. In. Sight.

Omg I'm so sorry. I also got shingles in grad school. Seems to come with the territory and then to throw pregnancy on top of that? Recipe for high stress levels!! They are sooo painful so I really sympathize. Hope they clear up soon!

Oh man that mega sucks. I had Shingles soon after getting back from my honeymoon. I guess all the wedding planning stress caught up with me when I was ready to take it easy! I remember Vicodin for pain and an antiviral to speed up the breakout were lifesavers...are you allowed to take anything?

I'm taking valtrex. Doctor swears it is baby safe as do current studies. So annoying.

That is awful.  I will try to be thankful for just being super tired and stuffed full of a giant parasite trying to claw its way out of my body.  My neighbor had shingles and it was just this massive gaping wound on his back.  It looked *so* painful.  I hope you feel better soon!!
