36 / Honeydew
How are you feeling?
Swollen, tired, and done! This carpal tunnel shit is super annoying and making it hard to complete my last minute crafty projects for the baby.
Appointments/Updates?
Breastfeeding class tonight and appointment with the midwife tomorrow. Nothing exciting going on. I think that the baby is transverse though, and will ask about it at my appointment.
Rants/Raves:
Rave - I just ordered my insurance breast pump!
GTKY: What is the most off-the-wall thing/weirdest advice someone has given you this pregnancy?
How are you feeling? not too horrible...I seem to have a constant backache these days, though. I hate taking meds so I usually just use my heating pad when necessary
Appointments/Updates? I have an OB appointment on Thursday...I am nervous because they are going to check baby's position and start discussing my "options" if she is still breech. I am most likely heading for an external version or scheduled C-section--eeek!
Rants/Raves: Rave: I had my baby shower this weekend and it was nice. I didn't get much off my registry, but I did get a lot of clothes and toys. I must have gotten a half dozen of those "Taggies" toys, lol! Rant: I went to another baby shower on Sunday and we got a tour of the nursery. I am so jealous--everything was all set up and beautiful. I guess I am just sad that I haven't been able to set up much for baby, since we are moving shortly after delivery. All I'm going to have is a little corner in our room set up for her with a rock n play and a little diaper station. Sadsies.
GTKY: What is the most off-the-wall thing/weirdest advice someone has given you this pregnancy? DH's grandma told me I needed to nap for at least 2 hours every day. Okay, Grandma, do you want to tell my boss that? lol
36 weeks/ honeydew
How are you feeling?
HUGE!!! And I'm to the point I'd pay someone to get a good nights sleep for me, before this baby comes!
Appointments/Updates?
Apt on Thursday but my dr is out of town on vacation and I have to see her nurse practitioner
Rants/ Raves?
Rant: my dr is out of town!!! Doesn't she know I could have this baby at anytime, why doesn't she plan her life around mine!! Lol Rave: baby girl will be here in 2 weeks!!!! Can't wait to see her face!!
How are you feeling? effin' ready. next Monday (at 37 weeks), I will start drinking rose hips tea and bouncing on my bouncy ball. DH has promised ankle massages to see if we can't get this party started early. we know we have a big'un, so we're totally cool with an early baby.
Appointments/Updates? 36 week appt., U/S, and strep B swab this week. Centering and BF class next week. had a few blood pressure spikes and a couple days of bed rest, but controlling my salt intake and upping my iron has helped stabalize.
Rants/Raves: RANT: my MIL ambushed me Saturday when DH wasn't around to explain to me all the ways that our girl-name selction (we're team green) was a bad idea and that we should reconsider. i shut her down. RAVE: DH totally supported me when i told him about the situation later. he got some serious sexy time as a reward.
GTKY: What is the most off-the-wall thing/weirdest advice someone has given you this pregnancy? my MIL is old school: she literally gave me a demonstration of how to manually express my breast milk. #awkward.
How are you feeling? I'm feeling good, just feeling as big as a house. My co-workers have told me this morning that I look BIGGER than I did last week. Oh gee thanks. Baby Coconut is rolling and a stretching and I love the feeling. We rocked out this morning to Queen's "Another one bites the dust" it seems he appreciates some good Queen.
Appointments/Updates? I have my 36 week appt with the midwife this Thursday, she'll advise us on what to pack for the L&D as well as what to do when I go into labor and the Strep B test is this Thursday as well. I hope I test negative. UPDATE: The stretch marks which I have spent 33 weeks avoiding have suddenly appeared and boy are they angry looking. Hahaha!
Rants/Raves: Rants: I had a Vietnamese Nail lady nuzzle and kiss my stomach this past Saturday when I told her I was having a boy. She without asking nuzzled and kissed my stomach and told it that she loved it. I was so shocked that I couldn't even figure out what to do. One of her coworkers told me right after that the nail lady has been trying for four years and hasn't been able to get pregnant. So immediately I felt bad and let the incident slide. Then I felt weird that such personal information was put out there. I mention the nationality of the nail lady because I'm Vietnamese as well and I understand the pressures of starting a family and especially having a son. But man I made it 8 months without encountering an invasion of personal space and all in one day had the weirdest kind.
Raves: The nursery is DONE! Woot woot!
GTKY: What is the most off-the-wall thing/weirdest advice someone has given you this pregnancy? My dad telling me to give a teaspoon of water to the baby after every meal to help prevent baby acne. Uh no thanks dad.
33/ Durian Fruit
How are you feeling?
The usual- acid reflux, tired, achy.
Appointments/Updates?
Had my bi-weekly today. Everything is looking good
Rants/Raves:
Raves - DD1 is back from spring break at her dad's and I'm SO happy she's home!!
Rants - Nothing outside of pregnancy discomfort.
GTKY: What is the most off-the-wall thing/weirdest advice someone has given you this pregnancy?
I think I've gotten really lucky this time around. Maybe it's the STM status, but nobody has tried to give me advice this time around which is great because I probably wouldn't listen to it anyway.

***** All AL Welcome *****
How are you feeling? As well as can be expected. Still pretty mobile & pain-free and sleeping OK.
Appointments/Updates? Not really, except my fasting blood sugar numbers refuse to come down so I'm certain it's meds for me. Last Friday was the second week in a row they referred my numbers to the doctor, and the first time he said "let's give it another week" and nothing changed, so...
Rants/Raves:
GTKY: What is the most off-the-wall thing/weirdest advice someone has given you this pregnancy? I don't know. I think most of the advice I'm given goes in one ear and out the other.
How are you feeling? TIRED and my lower abs/pubic region is so sore, that plus the hips make it impossible to sleep. Other than that I fell like my little one will be a marathon runner she never stops moving.
Appointments/Updates? 36 week appointment tomorrow, as well as my TENs unit class. So excited for this as TENs really helped me with my lower back rehabilitation. But I do have to do the Swabs and checks this week so boo!
Rants/Raves: RANT: I have gone all pregnancy with my regularly scheduled appointments at the same time/day (spoiled I know) and now I've received two calls having to reschedule both this week and next week's appointments cause there would be NO MIDWIVES in the office at that time. Very inconvenient but I think they have a valid reason which is my rave. RAVE: at our hospital every time a baby is born they play Brahm's lullaby throughout the whole hospital, it's so cute. We were in class on Sunday and 3 babies were born (4 hours class) pretty sure that's why all the doctors are out today, busy weekend.
GTKY: What is the most off-the-wall thing/weirdest advice someone has given you this pregnancy? Make sure the nursery has lots of light so that the baby can get used to sleeping even when it's sunny... I'll do my nursery my way thank you much. She said this cause I have blackout curtains and no lights on in my room at night and have an extensive darkening ritual when I stay at hotels. I just sleep better when there's no light and there's tons of scientific studies to back up blocking out light when sleeping. Still my bedroom my business.
How are you feeling? Feeling great, minus this pinching pain under my right rib. At first I thought it was pain from my skin stretching, but I think it's internal. My doctor told me that it could be due to muscle stretching since baby's butt is right there. Hurts the most when I'm just sitting or laying down, but fine when I'm standing and moving around.
Appointments/Updates? Had my 36 wk sono today. Baby is head down and measuring 5.5lb. Doctor said so far so good and LO has lots of hair already.
Rants/Raves: Raves: I had another baby shower with DH's family (my family is in Chicago, we live in NYC and DH is from Philly) and it was really fun. Today is my first official day as a SAHM!! Rants: I quit my job last Friday and for the next 4 weeks I'll be getting our place ready for LO and also starting to pack up to move a month after baby arrives. So much to do and not enough time!
GTKY: What is the most off-the-wall thing/weirdest advice someone has given you this pregnancy? Luckily I haven't gotten much advice at all. Most of my friends still don't have kids yet, so not much guidance given.
How are you feeling? Tired. I am not sleeping well.
Appointments/Updates? Appointment tomorrow. Should be pretty standard.
Rants/Raves: Had the baby shower for my husband's side yesterday. My sister-in-law hosted and she did an amazing job! She's a graphic designer and everything was BEAUTIFUL! And overall the theme, food and games were really well planned. She was an awesome hostess. I can't say enough sweet things about her/the shower.
GTKY: What is the most off-the-wall thing/weirdest advice someone has given you this pregnancy?
How are you feeling? meh, I had a LONG weekend as we were shooting a wedding so that was exhausting and my groin/pubic area was a mess after it. Last one until after peanut though, but I still feel like I got hit by a mack truck. Other than that just tired and having a edge of feeling like I don't have everything ready I need to- the car seat needs to go in, I need to order some more stuff from amazon now that the shower is over but have to wait 2 more weeks for the completion discount, need to clean breast pump as it was lightly used by my SIL before, etc.
Appointments/Updates? Just saw the MFM today and she is measuring 5#8oz with really long legs and arms and lots of hair the tech said- but she is still breech
Rants/Raves: Rant- why is she still breech- c'mon little girl get it together! Until you do you will be subjected to ice, inversion, pool handstands, moxibustion, pelvic tilts, cat/cow, and the webster technique. Rave- the weather is finally consistently warmer. I actually love the chiropractor and the painful ligament releases because it feels so good after!
GTKY: What is the most off-the-wall thing/weirdest advice someone has given you this pregnancy? I really haven't been given that much advice most people I am around are pretty good about minding their own, but I remember my MIL basically making fun of me for reading a book on breastfeeding saying it was unnecessary and you just do it. As her DIL was uninformed on what she faced and only stuck with it 1 week...as did my other SIL.
How are you feeling? Decent. Back pain is getting worse, fingers are starting to swell, and the RLP is ramping up.
Appointments/Updates? 36 on Weds as well as birthing class #2. The classes are nice and all, but how do they expect pregnant women to sit there for 3 hours? I'm uncomfortable after about 1/2 and hour.
Rants/Raves: Nothing really. It was a pretty uneventful week.
GTKY: What is the most off-the-wall thing/weirdest advice someone has given you this pregnancy? I haven't gotten much advice at all, let alone crazy stuff. At my shower, the guests wrote their advice for after baby is born. It was really cute seeing what the couple of kids (10ish yrs old) wrote.
Week/Fruit: 36/honeydew
How are you feeling?: I actually got quite an energy spurt the last couple days. It has been amazing! I have been so productive. However, my back is telling me that maybe I should not push it so hard.
Appointments/Updates?: First weekly appointment was yesterday ... baby has started to drop and is at -3 station. Shit's getting real, folks.
Rants/Raves: Rant: DH is not nearly as worried about getting the house spotless as I am. I had a breastfeeding class last night, and he was going to clean the kitchen and start working on cleaning his desk area in the family room (you can't even see the surface of his desk, or the floor around it, and he hates if I touch any of it). Instead, I got home and he had played video games for all 3 hours. Grrr. Rave: We finally finished off all baby shopping this past weekend! I feel like I at least have all the "stuff" I need now to bring our LO home.
GTKY: What is the most off-the-wall thing/weirdest advice someone has given you this pregnancy?: Either folks haven't been giving me weird advice, or I haven't been listening/remembering. Honestly, could be either.
