I have a belly button ring ...er says to no jewelry ....have anyone just took it out and then just never put it back in...have u made the decision to when u get your bfp you will just leave it in or take it out

    I had a belly button ring.  I made the decision to not put it back in after one of my surgeries.  My husband said the ring needed to go since we were trying to get pregnant.  I do not regret taking it out, but I did not expect to still be trying to get pregnant 3 years later. 

    My TTC Story:

    Me: 40,DH: 48, Married 10/07/2011, TTC since 09/2011, 03/2012 Started Clomid, 04/2012     Clomid, 05/2012 Clomid, 06/2012 Went to RE, he found a plum size fibroid in uterus, husband has low sperm count, 06/06/2012 Removed fibroid, 08/2012 Hysteroscopy
    IVF #1 October 2012 - Retrieved 8 eggs, 5 fertilized, 10/13/2012 Transferred 3 embryos - 8, 5, and 4 cells,     the other 2 eggs did not survive freezing, 10/26/2012 BFP!! Beta: 11, 10/26/12 Beta: 2 = Chemical Pregnancy
    IVF #2 - March 2014 - Mini IVF - Retrieved 5 eggs, 4 fertilized, 4 Frosties - 8, 9, 7, and 7 cells all in good condition. 
    IVF #3 - May 2014 - Mini IVF - Retrieved 2 eggs, 2 fertilized, 2 Frosties - 6 and 8 in good condition. 
    FET #1 - September 2014 - Transferred 2 embryos - both 8 cells - BFN
    FET#2 - November 2014 - Transferred 2 embryos - BFN
    FET#3 - February 2014

    My acupuncturist said it leaks energy.  I will do whatever it takes at this point.  I took it out 3 years ago, it never went back in.
    TTC since 2007; Unexplained; 8PG: 4CP, 2EP, 2MC w/HB at 8-9 weeks

    I took mine out for 3 years and was still able to put it back in again even after all that time. I got it done in 1999, took it out in 2007, and put it back in 2010. I recently had to take it out again 2 weeks ago for a laproscopy and I'm just planning on waiting for my site to heal and put it back. I think everyone is just different on it. I have 15 piercings (including dermal implants) so to me I will do what it takes to keep them.

    I don't have a belly button ring, but I've seen the plastic or rubber ones that you can use instead? (I know they make ones specifically for pregnancy.) Would those be OK for ER, since they're not metal? (If you want to keep it in of course.)

    TTC #2 with assistance since 03/11
    Me: 33, Autoimmune (Hashimotos and FMS/CFS)
    Treated with Synthroid, acupuncture, TCM and supplements
    DH: 33, MFI (very low on all counts, high antibodies, hemochromatosis)
    Many treatments tried, none successful

    IVF/ICSI #1 05/14 - EPP/Antagonist, Gonal-F and Luveris, 18R, 14M, 13F - SET of 1BC, all arrested on day 5 - C/P
    Genetic testing = normal, DNA Frag = excellent
    IVF #2 03/15 - Long protocol with Suprefact, Gonal-F, and possibly Luveris, adding in PICSI

    I took mine out for ER and put it back in when I got home. Honestly, I should just leave it out. Like PP have said, it's not like it's going to be on display anytime soon (if ever) after the weight gain from IF and my newly acquired stretch marks.

    September 2012: Start IF testing

    DH (32): SA is ok, slightly low morph, normal SCSA  Me (32): Slightly low progesterone, hostile CM, carrier for CF, Moderately high NKC, High TNFa, heterozyogous mutated Factor XIII, and +APA

    October 2012-May 2014: 4 failed IUIs, 3 failed IVFs, and 1 failed FETw/donor embryos

    November 2014: IVF w/ICSI #4 Agonist/Antagonist with EPP and Prednisone, Baby Aspirin, Lovenox, and IVIG for immune issues.  Converted to freeze all due to lining issues.  2 blasts frozen on day 6!

    January 2015: FET #2 Cancelled due to lining issues

    April 2015: FET #2.1

    My acupuncturist "made" me take mine out, too @vibeee

    I'm actually glad I did, because I can't imagine keeping it in while all bloated and uncomfortable from the stims. I didn't like anything touching my stomach and my pants usually hit me at belly button when sitting. I've had mine in and out for years (replaced it with a small gold round earring so it was easier to remove) and the hole has never closed, so at some point in the future I'll probably put it back in.

    IVF #4 No suppression/Antagonist Nov 2014/Converted to IUI #1 = BFN
    IVF #4.1 Feb 2015 = cancelled
    IVF #4.2 April 2015 - Lupron Stop Protocol with ICSI = PGD testing of embryo indicated it was abnormal
    IVF #5 June 2015 EPP with Antagonist
