Almost 2 yo not wanting to eat

The past few days LO hasn't wanted to eat much.  He's not sick and is running around happy as can be, good wet and dirty diapers, and doesn't appear to be teething.  He's on the small side so I'm concerned about him losing weight.  What are some foods that your little ones love to eat?  I'm hoping maybe I'll get some new food ideas for him or some advice from others who have encountered this.  I keep offering him food throughout the day and he'll take a couple bites and that's it.  Some foods I've been offering him are scrambled eggs, sausage, mac n cheese, toast, waffles, pretzels, yogurt, cheese, graham crackers, fruit, chicken noodle soup, and homemade smoothies.

  • I'm not much help, but my son is the same way lately. I think it's just them being picky toddlers.

Agree with PP, some days LO won't feel like eating much other days he wants to eat all day long.  Just offer him some food, if he doesn't want it, don't worry about it, he won't starve himself.  DS sometimes doesn't eat much if he is about to get sick or has an upset stomach.  Have you offered him anything like raisins or dried fruit?  DS loves dried strawberries.
  • I've been going through the same thing the last 2 weeks.  My son was a GREAT eater and all of a sudden, he's so picky!  He is extremely teething lately so i thought that may be a facter too.  He stays with my parents during the week and this morning, they tried giving him oatmeal for 15 min, and FINALLY he ate the entire bowl and then some.  So he was hungry, but refusing, then gave in and ate...so weird! I had a stressful weekend trying to figure out what to give him, but yes, they wont starve themselves...I also dont want to give him and give him cheese doodles all day.  Hopefully this passes soon!
