August 2012 Moms

I bought a new car!!!

2009 vw jetta. Was hoping to get an SUV but couldn't find one that I LOVED (and could afford). Has like 52,000 miles, is certified and BRIGHT BLUE. for those who have me on Instagram, you've seen it. Best part is, I paid cash!!! After some seriously money struggles my tax return, trade in, and a small birthday gift for SO we had enough to just buy it outright. Such an amazing feeling.

I'm pretty sure I just joined a vw cult.

Ohhh I bet with the beetle. My step daughters mom has a convertible older one. But I am so In love with this car. Which is nice, since I hated my last two cars. I won't even let SO drive anywhere.

  • Congratulations! I just bought a new car too, but it was financed. I finally have a car made in the past few years instead of the last 14!

  • Congratulations! We recently upgraded to a four door car.  It was getting harder and harder to put DD in her carseat, we would literally climb in the backseat.  It wasn't going to work with TWO seats back there.  So long beetle, I'll miss you!

  • @PeopleKnowMe‌ when I bought my car I wasn't dating anyone and I was in college. Six and a half years later I had two degrees, a husband, a toddler and a baby on the way! My little 2000 bug went through a lot but I loved that little car. On the plus side, my new to me car is a stick shift, just like my old car.

First of all congrats for your new car. Volkswagen is an amazing car maker and their vehicles are great as well. Now I’d suggest you to learn some car maintenance tips and do your car maintenance on your own, that way you can save some money and time as well. For those who don’t know about car maintenance can learn it.

  • I've been around a bit with cars, know a bit beyond the basics can dabble in body work as well. And when it's beyond my skill set my close friend owns a mechanic shop. However, this particular vw has been nothing but headaches and I hate it. Total waste of my money.

  • It's been in the shop 5 times for a check engine light for the same issue. The dealership I bought it from, a vw dealer and it's certified, basically says oh well. They know I live too far to really be a thorn in their side. What they don't realize is I will be getting a lawyer and perusing the lemon law. It took 3.5 months for me to even get it to pass inspection. And I have to go to court on the 22 of this month for not having a valid inspection.

  • I'm sorry - I had a VW that was a lemon also. No more German cars for me.
