Dh let me sleep until 8:00, then made coffee AND breakfast. Score! Spending the day doing some meal prep for the week and packing for my trip....we leave on Friday for 13 days! Super excited and nervous about traveling so far with an 18 month old

Hopefully getting a little outside play in today. DS1 needs to burn off some energy. We will make some bird seed and peanut butter balls for the squirrels and birds, then use the bubble machine.

I have to do some laundry and meal prep as well.

Got up an hour before the kids so I could start some bulk cooking.  I always hate the day I actually freezer cook, and then I'm infinitely greatful for the next week or two.  Soooooo I'm trudging through it.  Hope to be done by afternoon naps so I can use that time to deep clean the kitchen.  Not exactly a fun day, but hoping that being this productive can help me out over the next couple of weeks.

The kids each got a new toy from the grandparents yesterday, so at least there's something new and different in the house to occupy them....

Dd was up screaming all last night. CIO doesn't effing work with her and I have no clue what to try next.

Dh let me sleep in again today, but my 4yo niece just called "accidentally" and woke me up. ::grumble grumble::

I plan to go to Old Navy, Ulta, and Target. I have to get my mom's present. Then the grocery store, then home to make her cake then off to her house. Busy day so I should get up, but I don't want to.

We are celebrating my BILs birthday by going to Coopers Hawk for lunch. I'm not excited to bring 2 small kids there. If I am going to spend $100 on food, I'd prefer to not have to wrangle 2 kids!

Morning everybody :-)

Not much planned for today. I should really get some sort of a meal plan together and do some bulk/freezer meals today bc I'll be working Tuesday and Thursday nights next week, so I'm sure DH would be grateful. Somehow my thoughts and actions just dont ever seen to connect when it comes to doingit!

It looks beautifully sunny outside, so maybe we'll get DS out to the playground today as long as its warm enough! I also have a mountain pf laundry that really needs to get done.

Just ate some pancakes, now watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse! It's supposed to be warm eventually today, so hopefully a walk is in our future.

I also need to share this story, so I'm putting it here. DH and I went out to eat last night and on the way we were stuck in traffic on this road that always has crazy traffic. So, we're going like 2 mph and we pass all these teens holding signs that said "pray to end abortion," and "teens for life." It put me in a hulk-like bad mood for a good thirty minutes. Like I need some fucking teenage boy with zero life experience who can't even get pregnant if he wants to telling me to be pro-life. Fuck. If teenage DS comes up to me and says "me and my friends are going to go protest abortion on the side of the road this Saturday night," I'll feel like I failed as a parent.

Morning!

Last night was stressful. Dh just started working nights again, so I was alone with two for the first time. Then he had a measles patient (with DD too young to be vaccinated) and there was a shooting outside the hospital--second one in a less than two months.

This morning is better. Dd and DS and I went to feed the geese at the nearby pond and I found Humphrey! He's a pet duck some dick dumped. He can't fly and I tried to catch him this fall. He vanished two months ago and I thought he starved or froze (common fates for ditched pet ducks) but there he was this morning! Now I need to catch him and get him to the rescue.

Later DS has swim lessons and then we're going to a Easter egg hunt on a nearby town green.

Good morning! Up before H and baby so I can enjoy a little alone time and watch the Today Show. Really excited though because H and I are going to see Aziz Ansari (comedian for those who don't know) tonight in Santa Barbara! It'll be nice to have a date night away!

I actually thought of you while I was doing it! DS has started to hate matching socks and wants to pick two random ones to wear, so I didn't match them last night and just dumped his unpaired socks into his sock bin in the drawer.

I just got to go to target all alone! It was awesome, since I didn't really need anything in particular except diapers. Still managed to spend $200, but u got stuff to make ds a little activity bag for the plane and snacks. And a dress and top for me. And a seersucker sport coat for ds because he obs needs one

Nothing much planned for today. A few nights ago, baby slept the whole night without wake ups until 6:45am - 2 nights in a row! And I was all Hallelujah! But I didn't want to tell anyone for fear of breaking the spell. But then I told my SIL on Friday as a "it's ok, some day your 3 week old will sleep too" thing. And I BROKE THE SPELL. Gdamn it. We're back to 2 wake ups at night again. Sigh.

@RondackHiker‌ how can you tell a pet duck from a wild duck? Can't fly? Do they look different too? That's awesome that he survived the winter on his own!

Good late morning everyone! DH made breakfast this morning, so I just got done eating all the bacon. We're taking DD to see Muppets Most Wanted today. I love that's she's old enough to take to the movies now, if only because it lets me start going to the movies again. And she's not old enough to be aware of what movies are playing yet, so I can take her to all the good kids' movies and avoid the crap ones. Win!

Later, onto continuing to clean the house, and picking out party favors and food for DD's birthday party that I cannot wait to put behind me.

He's a pekin duck. They're awkward and cannot fly. He was probably an Easter pet some asshole dumped.

This isn't him, but it's the same breed.

We went out for breakfast, which marks the first time we've ever gone out as a family of four. Actually went well! We stopped by the inlaws briefly to see their new car. Now I'm with the kiddies while DH runs some thankless errands. Later we'll grill, take a nice walk, and then watch game of thrones!

He was with a group of mallards over the winter who tolerated him but the Canadian geese were being assholes this morning, so I don't have a good photo. I felt bad, because I got excited and called him and he came, only to have the geese chase him off.

i did a 5k yesterday and i think i'm hooked.  it sucked but it was fun and i felt sofa king accomplished at the end of the race, even though i almost hurled.  i'm hoping to do at least one a month and i think i have a pretty good base team to run/walk with.  maybe one day i'll run the whole thing.

@ShakeyJakey‌ I hope you get the result youwant. I'm not sure how long it is good for...I peed in a cup at like 5am and then tested when we woke up around 9 and got a positive when I found out I was pregnant with DD.

Thanks @wigglylilsis. I'll be happy but still terrified because I want a VBAC and I have to change doctors and hospitals and I don't want to. I'm enjoying sticking my head in the sand now and pretending it's not something I have to deal with right now

I'm tired. I had to get up with DD for over an hour at 3am last night. I am so used to her sleeping all the way through the night so I need coffee but I am hiding in the bedroom pretending to still be asleep. I am also starving so I will probably get up here soon.

Poor kiddo has a nasty post nasal drip that is making her cough. I think it is just allergies because benadryl makes it better. She hates the benadryl though and just fights the groggy feeling and gets super angry/pissy/whiny.

No plans for today.
