Anxiety?

Any FTM feeling anxious/nervous about labor and baby coming?

As my due date gets closer (42 days) I have these feeling of "holy shit we are having a baby. Can I really do this?" All these questions- will I be a good mom? How scary will labor be? What will it be like when we are home with her? I also of course have moments when I feel like I can't wait to meet her and hold her and love her. Just wondering if anyone else was feeling this way.

This is our 3rd and I'm feeling this way.  Honestly, there are times when it kind of consumes me.  But those are the days I'm usually more tired than normal.  Getting rest and reminding myself that I will love this little boy as much as I love his brothers helps.  Anything unknown can be overwhelming and nerve wracking, it's normal.  And yes, you will be able to do this!  Labor is rough, but it's also doable and in the grand scheme of things, it's over quickly and you get something amazing for all your work!

Im very nervous this time around. This pregnancy has been very different from my first and Im praying for an actual delivery not a c-sec. I have to keep reminding myself that not matter what we will be great parents and that this baby will be loved and well looked after. I get anxious thinking about managing 2 kids at once.....still working on that fear LOL

It's 4a.m. where I'm at and I'm wide awake due to feeling sudden anxiety. You're definitely not alone and I'm sure it is all part of this new phase of our lives. I just keep trying to relax and take it one day at a time.

This is our second and I'm definitely feeling some anxiety about everything. Labor, delivery, bringing baby home, managing a new schedule with 2 kids, etc. Having a good support system definitely makes things easier though.

Yep.  This is my 2nd and both of us still stop and say, "We're having a baby...AGAIN!".  I get nervous all the time about how we will balance it all.

Thanks for the encouragement. I see all these posts about people not being able to wait six more weeks, and I'm over here thinking - 6 more weeks? That's it! I have struggled with anxiety my whole life, and I just don't want to feel this way about what should be such a joyful time. I think it's the unknown of it all that has me freaked. Thanks again for making me feel like I'm not alone.

I can relate to the anxiety as well. I'm excited to meet our little girl, and we have wanted to be parents for so long, but it is still a HUGE life change that I sometimes wonder how I am going to handle! I wonder how it will change things with DH and I, whether I will ever feel like myself again, if I'll be able to afford everything, if she'll hate me when she's 12....haha! I think (or I've heard from friends) that it's normal to feel anxious, so I'm trying to cut myself some slack - while also focusing on the fact that billions of women have gone before us and done the same thing, and likely felt the same way, yet the human race hasn't died out, so it must work out somehow.
