I love twinsie names. But dh and I couldn't agree at all. So we have Evie and Penelope. We said we'd call Penelope "Ellie" but that's happened maybe twice. I love Evie and Ellie but she really is just Penelope. And all the rest of the family call her Penny. Oh well... Haha

I tried to avoid same first letter, but think it depends on the names -- sometimes first letter the same names aren't too matchy. Super matchy or rhyming names are definitely NMS.
Married 8/2008.
IVF with PGD March 2013.
3/22 ER: 25R, 20M, 15F. 9 genetically normal, and 3 survived to Day 5
3/27 ET: transferred 1 embryo, beta 9dp5dt=163, 12dp5dt=639
4/25 1st ultrasound at 7 weeks = identical twins with heartbeats?!!!
PPROM at 31w, delivery at 32 weeks of two beautiful girls
We had names with different first letters picked, but then decided we didn't like them ( Ashtyn & Norah). The names we Leila most likely go with now have the same first letter and I like it much better (Harper & hailey).

We are avoiding matchy names -- So much so that we had two baby names for our family, but have now rejected one because both names are 5 letters and have the same vowel/consenant patterns and end in "N"s. We are looking for a second name now that is a good sibset, but distinct from the other.

We lost our beautiful Twin baby girls on June 18, 2014. Tavin Sara and Casey Elizabeth were born at 21 weeks gestation and were absolutely beautiful, precious, amazing babies. We miss our daughters every day and love them with all our hearts.
Matchy names are nms. I'm not really big on sibsets, either. We liked the names so we went with it. Middle names are family names for us for all 3, singleton included.
We had a hard enough time coming up with 2 names that we liked with both out twin pregnancies. I can't imagine how difficult it would have been to try to match the names too. Our first we're Elliott and Ryland and these babies are Caroline and Oliver. We just found names we loved and went from there. Good luck to you!
I think same first letter is fine. My sister and I have names like that. We're 5 years apart, but it flows nicely. My husband didn't like it and vetoed my favorite girl name because it had the same first letter as our boy name. Rhyming names are the worst though.
NMS at all, but to each their own! And no matchy matchy outfits either!

Our names have different letters, but not different sounds. I wanted them to sound good together but not rhyme. Now, I didn't think I would care too much about matching outfits, but they are so much fun!! Enjoy the naming process! We didn't finish it until the second baby was in my arms in the or!
I didn't much care - DH forbade any form of matchiness.. After he picked Simon, he refused to allow me to pick names like Spencer, Sheldon, or Seamus because they were also S names -_- despite the fact that our singleton girls both have A names LOL
Silly DH, though, because my Simon and James can easily be called Simmy and Jimmy LOL

Our twins have the same first letter but they dont rhyme or anything like that. We didnt do it intentionally all of our boys are named after their great grandfathers and it just worked out that way.
Together 6 wonderful years.
TTC #1 18 months 1 loss DX unexplained IF-- BFP July 2009-- ITS A BOY
TTC #2 3 years and 3 losses DX PCOS -- BFP April 2013-- TWIN BOYS!
I like names that co-ordinate but not necessarily match. Our twins have names that are similar styles (old fashioned, classy): Audrey and Margot. I considered Audrey and Emilie but thought they were a bit too similar on the end (especially since our LN ends in an "ley")
My boys names are similar sounding, but not too matchy (Oliver and Austin). I think as long as the two names roll off the tongue and don't sound awkward together then they don't have to match. Remember you'll be saying them together a lot.
My boys also have the same middle name. It's a tradition in my family for boys to get their father's first name as a middle name, so we stuck with that. There middle name is Thorin, after DH.
Married07.07.07.Mom to 3:Ruby 11/08and Oliver & Austin12/11
Ours have the same initials, but it's a family tradition on H's side that the firstborn boy has those initials. H didn't think it was fair since they are IDs to only pass it on to baby A, and since its his family tradition I went with it. We call one by his first name and one by a nickname of his middle, because I didn't want to do two with the same letter. I do dress them just alike or coordinating though.
I will say I didn't want super rhyming. I like matching and similar nicknames. But I met a MoM and she had Layla and Lilah. She said she always got their names mixed up because they were just so similar...
So...is Jack and Jill off the table? Hehe. My son's first name starts with A and we just came up with one boy name that starts with a B (we are team green) and I thought it would be cool to have another name that starts with C. Eye roll myself...buuuttt...I'm not going to go out of my way to make sure it's a C name but if it happened I wouldn't care.
IVF #2. 7/12 - 18 days of stims, 3 mature eggs, 3 fertilized (ICSI), 3 transferred (9, 8, 7 cell) on day 3. First beta - 8/21/12 = 105, beta #2 - 8/23/12 = 268, beta #3 - 8/30/12 = 2,352. 2nd u/s - 9/4/12. Baby Boy born 5/1/2013.
IVF #3 Now (12/13). AMH is very low - 0.19. ER (12/5) 12 eggs, 10 mature, 7 fertilized using ICSI. 3 transferred (8,8,8 cell - all grade 2) on day 3. First beta - 12/21/13 = 126, beta #2 - 12/23/13 = 400, beta #3 - na (office was closed for new year's). First sonogram - TWINS aka OMG! -
My two boys (older DS and boy twin) are Grant and Glenn. I have heard that those names were too close, but honestly, we chose them because they are classic, strong, one-syllable, nicknameless names that sound good with our last name, so it's not a huge surprise that they're similar. But I'm not sure I would have given that same set of names to a set of boy twins.
We went with the same first letter, but we just liked the names. They also don't rhyme. DH is James and goes by Jimmy because his dad goes by Jim. They had his brother 15 months later and named him Timothy. Yes, Jimmy and Timmy. It's sooooo annoying. His mom, still to this day, cannot talk to Jimmy without saying, "Tim Jimmy."
My twins are Emerson and Ellis so same initial but not super matching. However we call them Emmy & Ellie so they have matchy nicknames but can use their full names whenever they dont want match anymore
We welcomed our girls on 11.7.12 @ 40w0d!
Emerson Lily 6 lbs 13 oz & Ellis Willow 6 lbs 9 oz

Our girls are ID and have identical names, save for one letter (when said out lout it is almost not possible to distinguish which name was said). Their middle names are exactly the same - spelling and everything. I cannot wait til the day we find out if we can officially adopt them and change their names. It is so embarrassing when we have to admit their names to people (we've been given permission to call them nicknames)! It causes so many problems - the doctor called in the same script for both. The pharmacist threw one away because she saw the same birthday, same medication, and what she thought was the same name. Also, it took forever to get both of their insurance cards, we assume because someone thought it was a clerical error and kept deleting one.
5/10 - Gideon 6/12 Warren 4/11 Started adoption process for 2 siblings through DCF. 10/12 Found out we are licensed! 12/14 Brought 3 week old identical twin girls home from the hospital. Could be at least until Summer 1015 til we know if they are forever ours

This is good to see/hear. Our names are not matchy at all, but the NNs are. I don't know that we'll use the NNs but eventually I'm sure they will.
My boys are Elijah and Gabriel. Their middle names each start with the letter J, since my husband and his son have the same middle name (James) and when I came along and we discovered we ALL have J middle names, we decided to stick with the pattern. My middle name is Jo, the babies are Elijah Joseph (like my middle name) and Gabriel John (after my great grandfather)

That's crazy! Just big hugs in that one! Hope the adoption goes through soon and without a hitch!
DH didn't want names that sounded the same. We have Zoe and Emma. They are 2 different kids with 2 completely different personalities so their names being completely different fits for them :-P. It's not NMS but to each their own.
