Hi Mommies to be! I finally decided to join after lurking for 3 weeks. This is my first child, I'm 35 and will be 36 when baby is born in Nov. I had my first sono this week and DH and I got to hear the heartbeat...very amazing! The doc gave me the whole AMA thing, but said that 60% of her patients would be considered AMA and that obstetrics just haven't caught up to the times. I am struggling with anxiety off and on, just being paranoid about the pregnancy going well and the baby being healthy. I would luv to know if others are experiencing this and what you do to cope. I don't want to stress out and miss out on enjoying the next 7mo.

Your doc sounds like he/she has a good attitude about AMA. I'm 42 and asked directly to the doc-do you have a problem with that? (in a nice way) because if she did, it wasn't the place for me. She doesn't : )
Congrats on hearing the hb, that is wonderful!
