So, we still don't know the sex of our little one but get to find out in three weeks. I have loved the name Harrison for the first half of this pregnancy- it's my absolute#1 boy name but I am afraid people will call him Harry. What do you think about the name Harrison?? It will be Harrison Michael (DH's first name). Our DD IS Hallie Marie so they would have the same initials. DH is not crazy about Harrison and likes Jonathan better..

I like Harrison a lot, I don't think he'd be called Harry if you guys didn't.

I really like it, though I'm with your DH in liking Jonathan more. The potential NN Harry would keep me from using it though, honestly. And Hallie and Harrison seem a little too similar to me... sorry to be such a downer!

I love Harrison. I know a 2-year-old and no one calls hims Harry, just Harrison.

I love the name Harrison but I'm a huge beatles fan & George Harrison is my favorite beatle lol. I understand why u would worry about it but i agree with the first comment, if you dont call him that not many ppl will. There is a guy my husband works with name Nathaniel & his mother hates it when anyone calls him nate so everyone makes a point to make sure they dont to avoid a swift scolding lol. good luck

I love Harrison, but it is a little matchy with Hallie. I would go with Jonathan for that reason...I wouldn't worry about the NN. I know a littleHarrison who goes by his full name. No problems with a NN.

I think Harrison is just okay. There's nothing wrong with it, just a tad too last namey for my taste.

I know a 3.5 year old Harrison... He's always gone by Harrison until recently when I've heard his mom and others call him Har and Harry quite a few times. I don't mind Harry... Kinda cute.

I do like Jonathan more, though.

My aunt was worried about the name Joeseph. Bec they had a Joe on her husbands side of the family and she just really doesn't like Joey. So she made it a point since he was a baby that is name was JOSEPH and not the NN Joe or Joey. He is 17 now and nobody has ever called him anything except for Joseph. Thought I'd share that story I hope it helps.

I know a recent college graduate named Harrison and many people call him Harry. I don't think it bothers him so friends were not corrected.

I love the name Harrison. I wouldn't worry about the nickname. It will come up at some point.

Harrison Michael is our long time boy name. Both names are family names. I'm not too worried about the Harry nn. I kinda like it, but we would probably use the nn Harris instead.

I don't really like Harrison with Hallie; sounds too matchy. I prefer Jonathan.

Thank you all! To be honest I had never even considered the Hallie and Harrison being too matchy aspect. I appreciate everyone's responses. I have to say I really love the name and as long as I can convince DH I would still like to go with it. I think Harry and Hallie is very sing songy and way too close but don't think Harrison is too close to Hallie.
