Pregnant after IF

Braxton Hicks

So I posted this on my BMB but figured itd be better off here where people understand IF brain. I am almost 21 weeks and a week ago started noticing I am getting some mild contractions/braxton hicks. I contacted my MW office and the nurses assured ne its normal but I can not help but panic over them. I usually get about one an hr and it doesnt really hurt just tightens in my uterus.

Anyone else experience this..especially early on? I am starting to get a lot more aches and pains and they all have me freaked out especially these.

Re: Braxton Hicks

  • The baby is growing so your honestly going to feel a lot of aches and pains and cramps and I wouldn't try to analyze everything or your going to go nuts! if you aren't bleeding and the pain isn't intense then I would trust your MW that everything is fine. IF brain is understandable but you called your MW and she told you everything is fine so try and relax and trust your body.

  • Yep, I'm an early contracter too. With this pregnancy and with DS, I started BHs very early, and often have 6 or more per hour. With DS, I went full-term with my water breaking at 38w,6d and delivering at 39 weeks. My OB and nurse said I just have an irritable uterus (which makes me laugh because it sounds about right with my wacky reproductive system). Being dehydrated and having a full bladder definitely make mine worse, so I try to avoid those. Try not to let it bother you too much; some of us are just built that way for some reason.

  • @tryingyetagain‌ that helps me feel a little more at ease knowing someone else who went through the same thing. Its just ao diff than I expected. I def noticed a full bladder really irritates mine and makes it uncomfortable. Did you notice them getting worse the further you got?

  • I know I am further along (31) but I am getting bw 3-10 per day. Not painful. My main fear is that my OB will say I have to stay on bed rest. Hope that doesn't make her say that! Otherwise I know they are not labor pains. Hang in there!!

  • Hey lady, you are definitely not alone! I actually ended up in L&D a few weeks ago because very time I peed I started contracting with pain. Everything ended up being just fine but I've been really careful to drink a lot of water and pee frequently. I still get Braxton Hicks on occasion but nothing like they were. Try to not overthink it and stay hydrated and pee often!

Mine are definitely more uncomfortable the closer to d-day I get. Frequency-wise, they actually peaked at about 7 months, when I would sometimes get 10 per hour! Could be because I'm trying to be better now about staying hydrated though!

  • Yep, I'm with you:( They scared me half to death last week. Both my MFM and ob said 6 in an hour and they want to know or back yo back hours of 4+. I second everyone that said to stay hydrated and pee often.
