Toddler beds - naps are now nonexistent

Hi Ladies,
My boys are 22 months, & we switched to beds a couple of weeks ago due to climbing out issues.  They have been doing great at bedtime, but now they won't nap.  I know they still need their naps, because they turn into little monsters by mid afternoon.  They share a room, & it's not possible to separate them. (Already thought of that).  Maybe I'm being impatient since it's only been a couple of weeks.  Any of you have any advice?  FYI, there aren't any toys in the room, & we do our regular naptime routine.  Thanks!

From what I've seen it seems, this is typical. I think your options are pushing naps later and hoping they're tired enough to sleep, or make bedtime earlier and skip naps. I have toys in my kids room so they can have "play in your room" time if they don't nap.

ETA: you can try something like a toddler sleep clock. That worked somewhat with my kids.

  • Do they stay in the room or come out?
  • Ylvelill, there's a gate in their bedroom hallway.  So they can't leave.  Caden, I have tried one safe toy each, & it worked once for one of them.  I found the other one sitting next to him, trying to wake him up.  I had thought of pushing naps later, but haven't tried it yet.  Thanks for the advice!

Oh my kids won't nap either unless both are napping. I just meant if they decide not to nap they still have to be in their room and they can just play. It's for me to get a break not so much for them lol
