IUI question... ugh

Hi, This is my first IUI. we had a failed IVF in Nov.

Im on CD 9, Took 50mg Clomid from CD 3-7. I always O early (around CD 11) Yesterday morning I had a flashing smilie face on the OPK. Called the doctor, they had me come in for progesterone and did an us. I only have one 15.5mm lead follie on my right and a 10.5 on my left. my lining was thin I think 4? Is this even looking hopeful? This morning I did not get a strong line like yesterday on the OPK. The doc had me get the ones that are two lines, not digital. I was feeling so excited... now I am so blah... Am I a poor responder to the Clomid? Shouldn't I get more follicles? or is this normal.

hmmm your follies can def still grow by the time you ovulate... are you not being monitored with ultrasound and bloodwork though?  That is super important!

 I see you have DOR so that is actually great to have 2 follies on Clomid if they mature enough for the IUI.  Most RE's won't do an IUI if you have more than 3 at your age.

The same thing happened to my on my first IUI.  I got a smiley face on Day 10, my first ultrasound wasn't until day 11.  So I called and they had me come in - my follies were maybe 10mm.  Ended up not triggering until day 15.

It turns out OPKs are not accurate for me - they always tell me that I am ovulating around day 10 or 11.  Turns out I actually ovulate around days 13 - 15.  

The nurse at my RE's office said that is why they do the monitoring - the OPKs sometimes don't detect the surge accurately.

Don't be discouraged - there is definitely still hope.

Thanks for the encouragement and responses.. I go in tomorrow for an US to check again. Hopefully there is progress.

@Lady2010 I am thinking the same thing is going on with me. At home I always get a positive early in my cycle. Maybe that is an issue with us. Huh..

lFinTN Today the nurse mentioned triggering me. originally that was not the plan. I think since we are OOP they are trying to minimize the cost. But I would rather be monitored and triggered than waste a cycle. we will see tomorrow morning what the plan is.
