Happy Friday! I start vaginal progesterone inserts tomorrow and from what I am told they are pretty yucky. Any tips to help? I have to do three a day, so timing or techniques suggestions are appreciated. Thank you in advanced.

IUI #1-3, Aug, Sept, Oct 2014 - All BFN
IVF #1 ER 2/19/14, 34R, 33F, 21 on ice, Freeze All
1. Stock up on panty liners 2. Don't be shocked if they make you super sensitive down there, you might even have bleeding. 3. They make me super tired and bitchy
good luck!

I have used Crinone and another vaginal progesterone insert (can't recall name but it is is the kind with no applicator)
Regardless of which you use, you will want to wear a liner. The Crinone was easier / less messy than the other ones since there is an applicator that helps you get it where it needs to be.
As PP said stock up on liners... it will get messy down there!
As for timing took them in the AM after my shower, over my lunch break, and then before bed. This way i was able to be more discrete about it when i was in the office
The brand I had came with an applicator so it was just like putting in a tampon
***Siggy Warning***
TTC Since Feb 2011 - HSG Aug 2012 opened 1 tube - Lap Nov 2012 confirmed Endo.
May 2013 both tubes blocked by hydrosalpinx. Nov 2013 Essure Placed permanently blocking both tubes
Definitely buy stock in liners! Even if you can get past the yuckiness, it stains clothing (lesson learned).
I found that once they start breaking down, they can start sliding (yes, that's gross), and can even shoot right out if you sneeze while standing up. No matter how high I got it up there, it still happened sometimes. If you can do it at a time when you'll be laying down (or at least sitting) for a little while, then I found that to be the best. I did it twice a day (two inserts each), so I'd do two at night right before getting into bed, and then two right before I left for my commute in the morning (hour long drive), or recline on the couch for about a half hour (if I was lucky enough to be off!). If they have to be refrigerated, you could always take them in your lunch bag and put them in again before your drive home?
I agree with the other ladies, liners, Liners, LINERS! When I was using them I would set my alarm about 30 minutes early, so I could lay in bed and hopefully let it absorb some before it all starts trickling out. I would put my evening one in right before bed so I was laying down for the rest of the night. I was one them twice a day, so I didn't need to deal with it at work.

You've already gotten good advice from others. Panty liners are a must. I should also warn you that the vaginal progesterone often takes awhile to fully absorb. So you might feel "weird" down there. I remember going for an OB check while I was on it and my doctor was like "hmm. soooo you're on Crinone, huh?" and out came chunks of crinone from my vagina. Like scoops of it. He said it was totally normal for it to build up like that. Don't freak out if you see a ton of it coming out of you.
oh yes that is good advice about wetting the capsule kind... it helps it go in easier especially if you are dry

I use regular pads bc I'm so worried about the leakage. It is so gross. Use what you feel comfortable with. I usually put the morning ones in and lay back down about 1/2hr to 1hr before I have to get out of bed for work so it gives it a little time to settle in. At night I put mine in before bed.
Ugh, I hate progesterone in general. It makes me irritable and weepy. I've had to take the Endometrin tablets three times a day. Not fun, very gross. Like the other ladies said, lots and lots of panty liners. I actually got heavy overnight pads. There were a few mornings where I woke up to a gush... it looked like I wet the bed. So gross.
I had a hard time remembering the midday dose, so I set an alarm on my phone. I also took the regular opportunity to ...clean house in the shower. Aside from that I'll just echo what the other ladies have said--gross, bad moods, panty liners. Yup.
