  • Hello ladies! I did not check in last week due to the drama I had (bleeding that turned out to be a SCH). I was worried that I would not get to check in again, but so far everything looks good. We have one sweet pea in the with a heartbeat as of last Monday of 115 measuring a day had of my ticker. Next sono is Tuesday after I get home from my vacation in NYC. Been trying to take it easy while here in NYC but that is proving hard to do. I am very thankful that I am here and that so far everything is looking great.

I would like to wave a very happy good bye to those moving to the 2nd tri, I hope you chase you into the 3 tri in a month or so.

QOTD: I live in Texas and I love when the blue bonnets spring up on the side of the highway. It is my favorite time of the year.

  • 13 weeks today! Nothing new to report.. still throwing up at least once a day.. still incredibly hungry all the time.. Oh- this was cool- a stranger, the lady at the gas station, asked me if I was pregnant! That's the first time anyone has noticed! All of my high school students know.. and the teachers I work with. It's nice being "out" although the constant advice is a little draining. My students were really excited.. one goes, "I've known for weeks!!" haha. She told me she has known since January, and I was like, "no.. in January I was just fat." lol yay IVF bloat!

As for spring: As someone else said, I can't wait for flip flops! Truth be told, it was 80 degrees here in TN yesterday, so I've already been wearing them. I love sitting outside on a patio people watching (usually with a cold beer or glass of white wine...) guess that's going to change this year!

QOTW: Definitely looking forward to warmer weather - going hiking, gardening and getting outside to grill out.  Grilling is seriously the only way MH can cook, so it's a big plus for me when the weather gets nice and he can make us dinner!

Good luck to those moving on to 2nd Tri! Can't wait till we are there too!

Not too much going on here.  I'm 7w5d and my u/s got rescheduled from yesterday to today so I'm anxiously waiting for that time to get here.  I'm super nervous about the move in 3 weeks to an OB b/c we won't get to see the lil's every week on the big screen! Have been super duper tired all. the. time.  I've had only a few bouts of nausea, but not throwing up.  Luckily I haven't gained anything, which is weird because none of my clothes fit me... Thanks IVF bloat for turning into 1st tri bloat... but NO complaints here!

QOTD - I can't wait for spring to get here for TONS of reasons.  Here in northern Illinois, everything is dirty and sepia colored.  I need green grass, blue skies, sunshine, and flip-flops.  I'm so excited to do more grilling out and sitting outside in the sun.

@tippytoes06 - you have my EDD right.. It's 11/16 so far!

  • I would like to be added! I am 6 weeks, 3 days and my expected due date is Nov. 25. I feel pretty good so far and I go in for my first ultrasound on 4/10. So hard to wait!

QOTW: i am just looking forward to seeing some sun!

QOTW: I definitely agree flip flops! I'm just looking forward to not having to grab a coat, scarf, hat..etc just to go outside! Happy Spring!

  • Hi Everyone!  I hope I can join.

Had our first ultrasound on Wednesday and found out it's two little bugs in there!  Twin A is measuring at 6w5d with a heartbeat of 137.7 and Twin B is measuring at 7w with a heartbeat of 155.  We are so thrilled!  My due date is 11/17 I think.

I am having really bad nausea and vomiting.  Every day at about 3 pm I become pretty much useless and then start throwing up at 7 or 8pm.  It's rough, but hopefully it means the little guys are settling in and strong.

Anyone know just how sick you have to be to ask for Zofran?

QOTW:    I am excited for spring because I will be getting to move to Minnesota to live with my husband again finally!! We've had a long distance marriage this year, but now that I'm pregnant and once I'm released from the RE, I'll be headed to live with him again.  Can't wait!!!!

  • Another appointment today and the twins were measuring 19 mm each (sorry they don't give me dates just measurements), but I am 8w2d. The tech said that was ~ 1 mm a day from my last visit, which made me start thinking is this why I'm so exhausted and the morning sickness has been taken to another level? Heart beats were 159 and 161. I have another appt. next Friday with the RE since I didn't get to see him today. The good is I don't have a break between him and my Ob - my first appt with the OB is 4/17.

The morning sickness/nausea/vomiting has been increasing, which I'm not to happy about, I'm crossing my fingers that it lasts only the first tri!

@neeseeandben my nurse said this morning if it is unbearable that I just need to ask and they'll write me a script. Might be worth something to ask about. It only came up because I said I'm actually vomiting now vs. just dry heaving.

QOTW: I agree with flip flops, spring/summer clothes (can I finally get rid of the winter jacket?) and just being able to be outside and enjoy the sun!

  • Thanks @TippyToes06 for hosting the 1stTri Checkin and congrats to all you girls who are heading into 2nd Tri.

After finding out we have two beans, I decided to pick up Dr. Luke's When You're Expecting Twins, Triplets or Quads and I'm prettymuch traumitized. Seriously. After reading the section about what to eat/ weight gain, I'm convinced that my babies are screwed because APPARENTLY (according to her) I'm "underweight" with a BMI of 19 and I honestly cannot begin to eat as much as she advises with all the nausea. So, feeling a little helpless and frustrated.

QOTW: I look forward to EVERYTHING about spring. I love warm weather!

  • Hi ladies!!

So I'm impatiently awaiting my first u/s..... 12 days from now :((

I'm officially 5 weeks tomorrow. I am having horrible exhaustion and dizziness... Oh and my boobs are enormous :-SS but other than that and sweets cravings I'm feeling pretty good. The exhaustion has been the worst part; I actually had the checker at the grocery store today tell me I look exhausted (I have never even met this person so I guess I look pretty bad....thanks guy).

I am looking forward to being done with this PIO crap though..... I have zero area left on my bum that doesn't have a knot and my DH somehow managed to hit a nerve last night and I may or may not have cried myself to sleep because my whole right butt cheek BURNED for 5 hours. DH is on injection probation seeing as he told me to stop being a control freak and let him find a good spot without a knot..... Ya that was a good night for him I'm sure in fact I don't recall seeing much of him again until I woke up this morning.

QOTD: I'm in Southern California and unlike most parts of the country and perhaps world we didn't have a winter this year.... In fact I think we had 90 degree temps most of January and this weekend into next week will be in the 90's so I am not really welcoming spring since it has been summer for nearly a year :-q

Yes, also traumatized by her book. I looked around on the forums and it seems that most people just tried to follow her guidelines, but not exactly. In other words, increase protein and dairy and gain 24 by 24. I have only gained 6 and I"m 12 weeks. I'm hoping it piles on during the second trimester. I do feel less guilty now if I have a milkshake or second helping.

You'll be ok! That book freaked me out too, especially since I lost weight in first tri. Even now heading into third tri I'm still not where Dr. Luke probably would like me to be (only 24 lbs total weight gain at 28 weeks) but babies are growing right on track and all is well. Just do what you can and know that second tri is sooo much better. You can then eat all the foooood! :)

This makes me so happy! Our heartbeats were also in the 180s at our 9w ultrasound (the twins were measuring 8w6 and 8w5). Our RE wasn't the least bit concerned. I think your Squirt is doing great.

We're queer. I'm 33, have severe stage 4 endo, and had both fallopian tubes removed. My love ("Manada" on the boards, 32) was diagnosed with diminished ovarian reserve. We did Partner IVF (my eggs, her uterus). We lost our twins Tavin and Casey at 21 weeks gestation.

  • We are 10 weeks 2 days with twins. It so amazing to watch our progress through this pregnancy as more and more people graduate to 2nd trimester and as we go from being the newest on the list to be being in the middle. Whenever I see the new December due dates, I realize that we're actually decently far along.

We haven't had another appointment since last week's check-in. Our next ultrasound at the RE's office is on Monday at 10w5d. And then we are having an appointment with our midwife on Tuesday (i'm not sure what that appointment will entail).

@Manada is doing pretty well. She's finally mostly over her cold. Her major symptoms at this point are exhaustion and hunger. As long as she eats regularly, she's doing ok with the nausea (as far as I know, at least!). Thankfully she has an appetite.

@tippytoes06, will you change our due date to Oct. 29. (Our RE gave us a weird date--the 26th--at first, but we've since decided on the 29th, which matches up with how far along we are.) Also, will you fix @Manada's screen name? Thanks so much for all your work on this check in! I look forward to it every week.

QOTW: I'm not a flip flop person but I am a chaco sandals person and I'm really looking forward to those. And to baseball season. :)

  • Hi ladies! I'm 7W today. We had our first U/S last Friday. We have 2 beans measuring right on track w/ strong heartbeats. I've been spotting and had a bleeding/cramping scare on Friday night, our RE sent me to the ER where they did another ultrasound and beta draw. Everything still looked great, which was reassuring but i'm still very anxious. I have my first OB appt tomorrow to follow up. Morning sickness has been kicking my butt - I'm taking Diclegis (sp?) but all it does is make me tired. Hoping my OB can suggest something different. Anyway - we are super excited and beyond thankful to have made it this far!

Also looking forward to Easter Sunday because that is when we plan to tell my family - everyone will be at my parents' house that day! It has been hard the past couple of weeks keeping it a secret but I wanted to tell them in person.

  • I've been avoiding checking in until today just to make sure everything is ok.  So hard not to be nervous.  I have been spotting everyday since the start of week 6, first I was diagnosed with an SCH, then I had a major bleed and the doctor has no idea why it happened.  Today I am 8w4d (measuring right in the area I should be and the heartbeat is looking good) and I was released to my OB.  My first appointment is 4/21.  My RE is so great.  He said in the two weeks until my appointment if I need anything just call.

We have only told our immediate family at this point and I want to wait til we get to the 2nd trimester before I let anyone know.  I'm just so nervous.
