@Ceamac0127 - I agree with you, though social media is designed to be that way sadly.
It is, but there are a ton of studies done on the millenials and younger and about how they are the "feedback generation," used to constant validation and encouragement and it has done....not good things to their work ethic and attitude.

There is a lot of bad things about each generation. I think this "everyone wins" attitude started way before Facebook.. and I think even before Myspace. If I remember right, when I was in High school my cousins in elementary school were playing a game against another and everyone got a participation trophy and the winners didn't get a winning trophy. It was weird to me.

I don't like that either. I sure didn't grow up that way! But social media has been a huge contributor to that constant need for feedback... if the vehicle wasn't there to "like" something, you wouldn't ever know that people weren't liking it!

I gave up sweets for Lent and had some a few times this week. Not sure if I can justify it with my claim that I can't eat eggs anymore (breast feeding still and Clark is very allergic) and eggs are my fav. Or that I have up dairy for almost a year when I thought his digestive issues were dairy related. Or that I haven't had a date with MH in 6 months... Etc. All sad justifications for being a bad Catholic I guess.
My confession is that for some reason, I let it bother me a tiny bit when someone who shall remain nameless, skips over pics I post on hdbd, but likes all the others. I'm even more embarrassed to confess that I care to notice. Oh well, I know she doesn't like me so I'm not sure why it comes as a surprise to me.
omg I always get distracted part way through HDBD and probably accidentally miss a few likes! Now I'm paranoid! I love all the pics even if I forget to click like!
Sames.
I confess that the "like" feature isn't my fave...for reasons like this.
I'm boarder line drunk and both of my kids are still awake. My hubs is home and being a dad so I don't feel bad at all. I'm pre gaming for my winery tour with my BFF tomorrow after my study group.

@lilbit0910 - same here. Didn't wanna spend a boat load but they only turn one once
@Erin10408 - definitely went over budget on the gift exchange too haha. Guess I go over budget on everything
@ClandestineX - totally agree with you. I don't believe in every child getting a trophy. Sure it sucks to lose but you shouldn't get a trophy to make you feel better. These kids need to learn how to deal with the feeling of losing and competition. The point is to teach them how to deal with those negative emotions and to work hard for something every single time. My H get so annoyed when my niece comes home with a trophy and we find out that her team actually lost. In her soccer games, they don't even tell the kids what the score is so they don't know if they won or lost the game. So ridiculous.
My confession is I want to know who Cece is talking about haha. Also my H thinks we spent at least 1 grand under how much I actually spent on N's bday party- whoops.
@Aprilbaby49 ...I'm the same. Put a limit on something, I'm bound to go over. I just love giving presents so much, and tend to overspend in all arenas of life : b
