I'm totally looking forward to watching Shark Tank and 20/20 tonight becuse apparently I am a 60 year old woman
One of my local competitors went on Shark Tank a year or two ago and got shot down pretty miserably. On one hand it made me silently gleeful, but on the other hand it made me sad because it was obvious that the reason they failed was not for soundness of their business plan, but because the investors had zero concept of the money available in the alternative baking world (the company was looking to expand it's vegan gluten free cookie line).
I've heard a lot of negative comments about alternative baking, mostly regarding lack of flavor and who would want to eat it. Um, lots of people on restricted diet?

DS keeps getting his legs stuck in the crib rails... I kind of think its funny, but also wondering if I need those mesh bumpers?? He only has this problem at naps, because he sleeps in a sleep sack.
Yesterday I sat him in his crib and he wiggled his way to the corner of the crib still in the seated position and had one leg out each side! What a silly baby!

My stepmom (I can't even call her that with a straight face -- more like the 3rd woman my dad has decided to marry) is freaking ridiculous.... We have zero relationship (and I like it that way) and she decides to text some religious crap. At 7:30 am!! And then says she watched a movie about god that told her to text everyone in her phone.
Ugh.
Go to church, even share your faith. But do not spam me!!
And SAK, those days will come back faster than you realize. And then you'll be sad.
And I'm dubious that they really existed in the first place. But I'll believe you because I'm holding out hope that my transition into parenthood will be as seamless and relaxing as the picture you painted.

I am seriously considering boarding the dog somewhere when DH is on one of his trips. It's getting so that I can't properly look after both the dog and DS.
Today the dog got his first walk of the day 2 hours later than usual, because DS is deciding to be difficult about morning diaper changes and getting dressed. On top of that, we had breakfast late because we were out walking the dog -- got some sausage sandwiches to go so that we could eat and walk, but still. And then DS wants to get out of the carrier and walk, so the dog doesn't get the distance that he needs. And of course, I'm being a bad dog owner because I'm trying watch a roving toddler and I haven't picked up a single poo today.
Our dog is really energetic and it's just not fair to DS to ask him to sit in the stroller or be worn in the carrier for 40+ minutes 3-4 times a day. And it's not fair to the dog that he doesn't get to relieve himself and get the exercise he needs. I don't know what else to do.
Now that my child moves constantly and is kicking all the time, it slightly annoys me. Of course, if he doesn't kick me I will be freaking out about why he isn't moving.
Still, I'll be glad to be done with pregnancy. Now to convince DH to get snipped.

What if you hired a dog walker? That would be a lot cheaper than boarding, right? Especially if you could get a neighborhood kid to do it
I went to see an herbalist about my PCOS instead of my GP or OBGYN. She asked me to change my diet, so naturally I came home and ate all the things, so they wouldn't be there to temp me later.

We have someone who takes him 3 days a week already. Trouble is, for some reason the dog has gotten aggressive when getting picked up, and we have to muzzle him for those 5 minutes when transferring him to his walker. We started giving him to the walker away from the house because we thought it might be a guarding behavior, but he still lunges and tries to bite the walker. And all this still means that I have to somehow wrestle DS into the stroller or the carrier so that we can hand the dog over up the street. It's a little bit stressful. The dog even once pulled me off my feet when the ground was wet and I was wearing DS in front -- I put my hands down but DS's head got tapped on the sidewalk. Thankfully he didn't have a concussion!
We've been researching dog behaviorists in our area to help us with this, but that's a longer-term thing. The walker tells us that G always settles down a few minutes after we hand him over, and is perfect for the rest of the day.
The dog gets picked up at 8am. Ideally we would like to give him a half hour walk and give him his breakfast (DH's job) before that so he is at least slightly more relaxed, than if he hadn't gotten out at all. And I completely failed to do this yesterday. LSS, if we boarded him I wouldn't have to deal with these stressful morning pickups, and the dog would still get the care and exercise he requires, albeit not at home. With advance notice the walker is always happy to add another day but this week is an unusual trip for which DH has to stay over the weekend. He left Wednesday night and will be back on Tuesday morning. The walker doesn't work on weekends.
Also, G thinks the backyard is part of the house. So he will not relieve himself there unless it is an absolute emergency. He has a couple of spots that he marks, but once he has done that he still wants his walk.

I've got them on the crib. I agree that the ties seem kinda flimsy but they are weaved through the rails and I don't see how a baby could get the velcro loose on the ends and pull them off. I can barely get the velcro loose! H can only scoot "up" right now so last night when he started crying for his MOTN feeding an hour early I go in to find him with his head wedged in a corner of the crib side ways because he can't scoot back down and unkink his head. LOL!
@lunarrainn I have PCOS too. It took 3 years and lots of treatments to get pg with E. after she was born I started eating paleo, and got pg with #2 on my own in 3 months. I think the cleaner eating and lower carbs (especially processed carbs) really helped. My other PCOS symptoms eased as well eating paleo. Just throwing that out there.

I ate paleo for a spell when I had strange neurological symptoms. I felt awesome in general, although my neurological symptoms persisted. When I found out what was going on and underwent other treatment, I eventually stopped the paleo diet. It was during end of HS/college. It was too hard to eat paleo during that time in my life. But I recommend trying it to see if it helps!

Have you looked into getting a dog walker? I do that for Ein. I'm looking into doggie daycare for her while I'm at school too.
ETA I read your other post. If the dog is aggressive towards the dog walker, have you looked into getting a different dog walker. Your dog might not like that dog walker for some reason.
I think we're going to take the long and painful route on getting the yard done this year. So, it looks like I'm going to be doing lots of container gardening this year. Oh well.

I've been debating this. It started a couple months after we started with this particular company. G was good with our previous walker, he would jump up and be excited at the door but he never lunged and snapped at her. So I know he should be capable of being picked up at the door without harming anyone. Anyhow, the current walker(s) have really made an effort to work with us on G's aggression. For a while they actually drove to a spot a block away from our house, and I could put G in the car (he loves going in the car), then they would either take him to a large park with a few other dogs for the day or drop him off with another one of their carers who lives nearby. I think that became challenging for them in the long term because of morning traffic. So about a month ago we started using the muzzle. There are 2 people that we primarily deal with, so it has been very consistent. But I suspect it is more the case that G is guarding us -- his family -- because he has also done it on the rare occasion that DH has handled the transfer.
At any rate there are only a couple of other services in our area that will do full daycare for a dog and for the most part it is people working out of their homes so they come to you. It's not like what we had in previous cities where it was a dedicated facility where we could drop G off. If we had that it would completely solve the problem.

I feel ya. I've been paying MIL to walk our dog when we can't. They take their dogs to the trails every day. We live close enough it's not a huge deal. I try to do it as often as I can as well, but no dice. Have you looked into doing other things with your pup to keep them "active". I'm guessing since you walk him so much he's a high drive dog. These types of dogs end up doing bad behaviors when not worked enough. Ideas to keep them active in other ways are: puzzle toys (good for food motivated dogs), training classes (obedience, agility, herding, rally, whatever), training at home (learn new tricks, practice old ones, perfect them), and doing rally/agility at home. It's easy to incorporate these into their lives as well so it's not a huge deal. Instead of giving them their food in their bowl, put it in a puzzle toy. Make them do a down, stay, and wait until you release them at meal times. Make them sit and stay when putting on their leash or when guests come to the house. Agility stuff is easy at home. I built a few jumps using PVC piping that I can take apart for easy storage. You just gotta keep their minds and bodies busy. It's ok to have inactive periods, but keeping them active during a good portion of the day is best.
If you can do a bit of training with pick ups then doing the doggie daycares will be easier. I love doggie daycares for active dogs. They play with other dogs and get worked like crazy.
@Mapleme , I accept you as an itchy whore, and have some specific questions I will send your way.
@TJ1979 , I had noticed your PCOS history when I am on a computer. I wanted to ask you about it, but didn't want to pry.
I knew that low carb is a big part of controlling PCOS. I am trying to decide now if I can eat things like quinoa and lentils. The herbalist wanted me to concentrate on meat and fat, which reminds me of my day of atkin's 10 years ago when I made myself sick off steak ( I didn't even think of eating green veggies). So I think I need to find meals that incorporate veggies and meat together without needing to be tossed in pasta or served over a grain. She also talked to me about the temperature of my food, which I found interesting.
Great ideas, @Nana_Osaki06 I used to do a lot of that with G pre-baby. Post-baby, not so much, I suspect that's part of the problem.
It really is! We got Ein when Cade was still pretty young. So we had almost 2 babies for a while. It took a lot of work for us and energy to find the baby to puppy grove. Now that the kids are getting older they'll start helping.
Being on the gd diet, lots of stuff like quinoa and lentils really count as a carb, albeit a low glycemic one, not a protein. Also I do eat grains and pasta and other carbs, but in smaller portions and with sufficient protein and fat. Always having carbs with protein and fat makes a HUGE difference in how my body reacts. It was hard to come up with things to eat at first but it got easier.
Mama to a little girl born July 2011 and a little boy born April 2014!
@lunarrainn I would recommend starting off very strict, then slowly adding things back in to see how your body reacts. I was really strict for 6 month bc I was also nursing a MPI baby. I have now found that I do fine with corn, rice, quinoa, and chickpeas, but terrible with wheat, dairy, and most beans.

@ chickypoo2468 a not so juicy confession. I ignored all calls by my GMIL yesterday so I could do my own recycling and laundry. She tossed a $60 bag of fabric last week. I am also still looking for part of a gift that I hope didn't go the same way.

The chiro is my hero and made a huge difference with my sciatica. Also, if they are Webster trained that will help balance your pelvis and even out the load. That was pure joy for me (I also was having a lot of hip pain).
I'm usually a very even tempered person and really don't like being crabby. So whenever MH has to put up with me being temperamentally pregnant I remind him that as bad as it is to deal with me, at least he doesn't have to BE me. (And unrelated to that, last night he said that he was glad that I was pregnant and not him because there is no way that he would be able to handle it).
Well, I am definitely not an even tempered person LOL but still don't like being crabby like this! Just feeling miserable. What a nice thing for your DH to say! Everytime I try to tell my DH how hard being pregnant is, he just makes some comment about how he feels like that means I never wanted to get PG in the first place and why did I do it, blah blah. Well I'm sorry that I'm not freaking happyhappyjoyjoy. I have bipolar disorder and can't take my meds during PG, so it makes things more difficult. I try telling him I am sacrificing everything for 9 months for our child, and I couldn't see him doing that! ~X(

And he learned how to scratch. So that's fun.
I'm there too with G's! I'll still use all the things that keep him from forming scales, but I'm so over trying to fix it! And yes, everytime we go out, someone asks about his "rash" or why his hair looks wet (because if I don't slather his head with coconut oil, he forms giant flaking scales, that's why!).
@TJ1979 I don't yet have a bathing suit and unfortunately don't have time to get to a pool anytime soon. Maybe next month.

@ chickypoo2468 a not so juicy confession. I ignored all calls by my GMIL yesterday so I could do my own recycling and laundry. She tossed a $60 bag of fabric last week. I am also still looking for part of a gift that I hope didn't go the same way.
