Warm Weather Sleepwear

I am trying to plan ahead what N will be wearing the next size up.  I plan to switch him to 12 months clothes around June so I bought all summer outfits in that size.  I am just not sure what to get for him for nighttime.  My mom says we can continue the footsie pajamas, but I am worried about him being too hot.  When she had all of her kids we were newborns in the summer, so footsie pj's made sense.  I did hear my SIL just kept my nephew in a onesie at night.  Maybe I will just have to wait and see.  So for those who are in warm weather, what do your LO's sleep in? Or what will they be sleeping in this summer?

  • It depends on a lot of factors. I prefer to sleep in a cool house (which is healthier, anyways) so I'll still have Phia in long sleeve/footie PJ's...just sans undershirt most likely.

  • Interested what others will say bc Nebraska is hot in the summer also and I feel like footsies for is aren't going to be the best thing.
  • I think we're going to do just a onesie... our house gets really hot upstairs... the fan will be going for sure.. but it gets crazy hot in Nebraska

  • We always did footsie pjs for all seasons with my daughter.

We use cotton ones in the summer and fleece on the colder nights.

She slept with blankets around the 9 to 12 month mark but would never cover herself with them.

  • Currently we are doing a short sleeved onsie under a fleece sleep sack. We keep our house around 69. Once summer hits, the temp will go up to around 72 and she will probably be in the same thing only cotton instead of fleece.
  • I already started using cotton sleep sacks. I bought them when I discovered that it was a sauna at her daycare!
  • We live in upstate NY and it has been brutally cold for Mia's entire life.  We keep our house really cool because I'd rather put a hoodie on than sweat to death.  So, since she's used to it dropping below 60 in the house at night through the winter eventually she'll probably end up just sleeping in a onesie or a diaper...depending on how hot it gets!

Just took out the clothes from DS1 and found we own 17 pairs of 12 month pjs. 8 are just shorts and a short sleeve shirt, the rest are cotton with feet. I think on nights we went without the AC I did the shorts but when it was on I did the cotton feet pjs.
  • M is a hot sleeper. She's been sleeping in onesies for a few weeks unless it's a really chilly night then footed jamjams. *we bed share/cuddle

  • I will probably stick with cotton footed pajamas and a sleep sack-- only I will switch to a lighter weight sleep sack (cotton or muslin) instead of the fleece once he has been using during the winter.

I may use some footless pajamas too. Since he will have the sleep sack on. But definitely long sleeve.
