Suggestions for non -y girl names?

I posted a poll a few days ago, my top girls names right now are Hailey and Audrey. Many of you said not to use a -y name since my DD is named Emily. Any suggestions? I'm not too fond of the old-school names like Eleanor and Hazel or anything too unusual, but also don't like anything super trendy like Madison or Paisley. Last name sounds like Stole.

Also, I don't see an issue with Emily and another Y name. Emily and Hailey or Audrey are great together :)

  • I also don't like sibling names that end with the same letter IF they are too similar sounding. How about a girl name ending in A?

    Audra
    Vera
    Nora
    Ada
    Amina
    Cora

  • My DD is Caroline. I love Emily so I thought I'd suggest it. I think they go well together. Elizabeth, Claire, Katherine and Juliet were on our list too.

    GL to you!

    I agree 100%

I think Audrey is lovely and classic as is Emily.
  • My daughters ARE Audrey and Hailey . It is not odd at all . I named them each for themselves and not because of another name in the family. Either one goes well with Emily . I can't decide which one i like better.
  • Abigail, Charlotte and Olivia - I know they're all very popular but they have a similar vibe with Emily.

Also would suggest Audra and second Bianca, love that name!

  • I don't think both ending in y is odd if otherwise the names don't sound the same.

    But some other options:
    Daphne
    Hannah
    Claire
    Grace
    Lauren
    Marissa
    Anna
    Natalie
    Gabrielle
    Brooke
    Allison

  • Well, since you're having twins, it's good not to be too matchy, but you want the sibset to sound well together.

    Emily would go well with:

    Hannah and Claire
    Grace and Kate
    Michelle and Brianna
    Bianca and Rose
    Celine and Meredith

Good luck on naming your twins!

LOVE the name Hailey and think it goes great with Emily.
  • I love both of your names! I don't think names that end in the y sound are too similar. It's not like they are so close you can't tell difference. I have 5 sisters. Me and 2 others both end with IE. 2 others both end in A. Only one sister has a name that doesn't end the same as another sister.
I'm 22, My Husband is 30, we got married May, 2011 started TTC August of 2011. Started testing at a little over the year mark. I think I was afraid to find out if something was or wasn't wrong. Anyway so far. Dx: Low/weak ovulation: 1st round of clomind 11/2012 no response. Didn't do anything in December because of Holidays and everything. So waiting to start so we can to round 2 of clomid 2nd round of clomid: 1/2013? image
