Cloth Diapering

Stuffing NB Pockets

I have a bunch of pocket diapers with the standard MF insert that is folded over to fit in the smallest rise for my 8 week old. This works, but is a little bulky. I'd really like the smaller NB inserts but I don't want to buy a bunch more for the small amount of time she will need them.

Has anyone used anything else in a pocket that is cheap, just as absorbant and trim? I'm thinking about prefolds/flats but I'm not sure I those would be any less bulky or as absorbant.

  • Flats are cheap. You can buy a few to try and use them as emergency diapers between Noe and potty training if you don't like them.

  • Maybe try a cotton terry washcloth, if you have any around? Probably not as absorbent as a prefold but it might be trimmer.
  • Thanks ladies, I will try those two. I have a bamboo flat that I got free...I will stuff that in there and see how it does.

  • I thought the NB sized alva or kawaii bamboo inserts were worth buying! Trimmer when they're tiny, and still trim to double up when you need more.
