Cloth Diapering

toddlers from disposable to cloth

Hello, I have two boys ages 2 1/2 and 1/12. We have always used disposable diapers due to 1. lack of knowledge and 2. my boyfriends initial sticker shock when it comes to start up cost. I have a very limited budget when it comes to starting a stash and I would like to get some hints on how to get the most bang for my buck. My oldest is currently potty training and only wears a diaper at bedtime. My younger boy is not interested in the potty in the least so I anticipate us using diapers for quite a while longer. Any helpful feedback? Thanks :)

  • The only two diapers the I can recomended for a toddler are the disana tie nappy and stochenkinder diaper. You will need a cover for both diaper, as well some prefolds or flats to use with the disana diaper.

If your LO is cooperative during changes flats with covers can be very economical. A lot of people use flour sack towels or there is a towel/burp cloth from IKEA that is popular. Some people do DIY flats by cutting up old T-shirts or bed sheets or receiving blankets.

Eta: if you tell us your actual budget we could probably give you more specific suggestions and shopping tips.
