Question- Provera

in TTC after 35

So I went for my blood test today and the results will be back tomorrow.  If its BFN they mentioned about giving me something to start my period--I am assuming its the provera.  How many would I have to take?  I never had trouble with my period since getting it so I am a little worried about it.
