~**PGAL Check-In**~

Hi Ladies! I'm back on track this week and will catch up with everyone from last week!

**Special Hugs to any ladies who may have had to endure any fake pregnancy April Fool's jokes yesterday. I know they rub me really wrong and I'd hate to think that anyone had to see them and feel that sting.** (((HUGS)))

This is a weekly check-in for all May Mamas who have previously experienced a miscarriage, stillbirth, or loss of a child at any age. We are getting so close to holding our rainbows! Please post your updates below.

How many weeks?

How are you feeling? Physically and emotionally?

Any appointments, ultrasounds, or milestones this week?

What else is going on? Apples and Onions?

@BeeKnees181 I hope your new work attitude is helping keep your stress level at bay. I hope you enjoyed your shower over the weekend!

@QOTR I love that you had a "perfect" u/s with the perinatologist! I hope your shower was great, and woo hoo on nursery progress! Lots of good things all around!

@ksyknelvr73 How was your appointment on Friday? I hope you didn't get in trouble about your weight. And even if you did, I hope you went home and enjoyed some junk food in spite of it! LOL. How did your maternity pics turn out? Any you care to AW here??

@Soupy84 I'm so jealous of your nesting energy! I have all these great intentions on doing the freezer meal thing, but we'll see if it actually happens! I'm glad that baby's foot is looking good, but I'm sorry you're still having issues with the heartbeat. I understand your disappointment at the thought of a c-section, but at the same time I'm glad they are taking such good care and keeping a close eye on you and LO. ((Hugs))

@ajsweeton Sorry about the pre-e symptoms. I hope that's not the case. Glad everything else is looking good! Yay for 34 weeks! That is a great milestone with twins! If you are planning a c-section, do you have an eviction date set?

@MrsKTen I hope you're feeling better after the stomach bug!

@Mikki62 Sorry about the spotting scare, but glad you got checked out. Has it stopped? Good luck on your move! A new house and a new baby! How exciting!

@becky7683 I've heard lots of conflicting information about hiccups and cord problems, but the consensus is that they are normal in most cases. Sorry it's giving you added concern. How was the show? We want to see it so badly, but tickets are sooooo expensive!

@meli025 Sorry about the emotional roller coaster, but I guess that's par for the course we're on. I hope you're feeling better this week. That's so exciting that you have the room all done! If you need something to do, you can come to my house and help me with my nesting! LOL.

@chknma I hear you on the insomnia. My body is so tired at the end of the day, but my mind never stops! I hope you're getting better sleep this week. Sorry that your fasting numbers are being wonky, but congrats on keeping everything else under control!

@hcorcoran I love the shower pics! Glad you had a good time. I'm sorry work is stressing you out. I think that, along with the argument about selling your house would be stressful for anyone, let alone a pregnant lady! I'm glad DH agreed to wait a while longer.

@ecinereb How was your "baby moon"? I hope you were feeling better and were able to enjoy!

@KatyPatrick I am so sad and sorry to hear about your little goat. How heartbreaking! I know you've been having a tough time with so much going on, I hope once LO arrives things fall back into place and you can enjoy your rainbow. ((Hugs))

@Iv2011 ((((HUGS)))) for your loss anniversary. Mine just passed yesterday as well, and it was tough. I'm glad DH and DD are being good to you! You deserve it!

@hatrats Did DH dodge the "man cold"? LOL. Men are such babies when they are sick, right? And of course I hope you're feeling better!

@ashtog Sorry that the BH contractions are causing you some concern about PTL. How are you feeling this week? Have they calmed down?

To all my other PGAL ladies- Hi!  :-h  and ((Hugs)) >:D<

Re: ~**PGAL Check-In**~

  • How many weeks? 32 weeks today!

How are you feeling? Physically and emotionally? Physically feel pretty good, things are definitely getting bigger and more uncomfortable but for right now, still very manageable. Emotionally I feel okay - I definitely find myself worrying about things here and there but I try to take a deep breath and relax.

Any appointments, ultrasounds, or milestones this week? Nothing this week.

What else is going on? Apples and Onions? This is my late week at work and of course it's the week we have BEAUTIFUL weather (upper 70's and low 80's all week) so I am missing it. Plus...just working late in general sucks, I'm tired, don't want to be here, hate not seeing my family. Getting excited for this weekend though - taking DS to "touch a truck" on Saturday and then I have a baby "sprinkle" on Sunday with the ladies in my family to celebrate this LO. We're going out to a restaurant and it's just my IL's but it should be fun. :)

ksyknelvr73 How was your appointment on Friday? I hope you didn't get in trouble about your weight. And even if you did, I hope you went home and enjoyed some junk food in spite of it! LOL. How did your maternity pics turn out? Any you care to AW here??

So my appt went well, and they didn't say anything to me about my weight which I was SHOCKED. I definitely gained about 10 lbs between appts but I guess they decided not to make me feel like crap about it. Right after my appt I went and got a frozen coffee drink as my reward...not that I deserved a reward :)

I am hopeful that the maternity pics turned out well - I don't have any at the moment. We had them done on Sunday evening and I haven't even gotten a sneak peek yet! I think we probably got a couple really good shots...DS was mostly cooperative and he really wanted to be involved. I am so anxious to get them back! Maybe next week's check-in I will have them to post a few.

How are you feeling? Physically and emotionally? Physically eh I'm ok. The usual back pain, but this racing heart feeling is getting annoying! Emotionally I've been better. I was diagnosed a few yrs back with PTSD and was on meds and everything under control for awhile. Now I can't take any of them and lately the stress is making my anxiety come back (which could be the racing heart). Had an ugly cry moment with DH the other night, he was the best and made it all better as always. But the thought of how many people will be at the baby shower this weekend is making me go nuts! Ugh, I wanna be excited for it, but I'm kind of not :(

Any appointments, ultrasounds, or milestones this week? Check up tomorrow!! Yay!

What else is going on? Apples and Onions? Other than what I said about my anxiety and whatnot no other onions. Apples: DH's interview and testing went really well last week for Myrtle Beach PD. Hopefully he gets called for the other 2 interviews and gets hired! Would love to move down to the area. If not, looks like he may have a back up plan and we can still end up down there before the end of the year! Super excited to get out of NJ!!

Hope all the other PGAL ladies are doing well!!

    How many weeks? 34w

How are you feeling? Physically and emotionally? Today both my body and my mind are tired.

Any appointments, ultrasounds, or milestones this week?
I had an u/s today with MFM due to my GD and needing meds. I was told that my fluid levels are low and that I have to go back on Friday for f/u. He also mentioned hospitalization and early induction. I freaked out all morning, but now I'm just too exhausted to worry. I'm drinking my water as instructed and keeping a close eye on baby's movement. Hopefully I will not be so in shock on Friday that I'll be able to ask better questions.

What else is going on? Apples and Onions?
A: loving the nice weather and taking DD outside this week
O: feeling frustrated about my GD/fluid issues I just want to eat my tiredness and emotions away with carbs and sugar today.....but I can't. stupid placenta messing with me. grr.

  • Thanks, Lunabug, for running the check-in!

    How many weeks?
    32w2d :)

How are you feeling? Physically and emotionally? After a rough weekend, I'm feeling pretty good on both counts. Just keeping my fingers crossed for no new discomforts!

Any appointments, ultrasounds, or milestones this week? Not this week, but Monday is my bi-weekly and our 1st childbirth class!! I'm so excited to watch DH take in all the info ;)

What else is going on? Apples and Onions? Onions- DD1 is gone all week at her dad's for spring break and I miss her SO MUCH! Even 5 years later, sharing time isn't very easy. Apples- DH and I are using this "alone" time to enjoy some opportunities to go out to dinner and see a movie or two and do date-night type stuff. We haven't been able to do that in awhile, so it's really nice.

@Iv2011 ((((HUGS)))) for your loss anniversary. Mine just passed yesterday as well, and it was tough. I'm glad DH and DD are being good to you! You deserve it!
I'm so sorry, @Lunabug924 . Big (((hugs))) to you, too. I hope it passed without the crappy April Fool's jokes you mentioned. It's brutal to deal with on the best of days.

  • How many weeks? 33 weeks!

How are you feeling? Physically and emotionally? Physically feeling fine. Emotionally, I'm ok. Officially diagnosed with GD so have started testing blood sugar four times a day and am strictly watching my carb intake and eating every 2-3 hours, while tracking what I eat. Only 7-8 more weeks of it though, so that's good. ANDPLUSALSO, insurance saved me $140 on the cost of the blood sugar testing equipment... I only had to pay $3!

Any appointments, ultrasounds, or milestones this week? Met with a diabetes educator on Monday, and my next pre-natal check-up is next week.

What else is going on? Apples and Onions? Our first birthing class is this Saturday!!!

Welcomed our rainbow baby 5/20/2014! It's a girl!

  • Thanks @LunaBug924. We enjoyed it and I felt ok for the most part!

How are you feeling? Physically and emotionally? I've been feeling quite anxious but felt better after my MW appointment today.
Also today is our first loss anniversary.

Any appointments, ultrasounds, or milestones this week?  Just saw the MW this morning and she said everything looks good. My BP was a little high for me (normal for most people) so they aren't worried and will just keep an eye on it.
What else is going on? Apples and Onions? DH and I went to IKEA after the MW and picked up some of the last things we needed to finish setting up the nursery. Now to actually get the room organized.
I'm trying to figure out when to take my leave from work and the unknown of when baby will actually come is stressing me out.

How are you feeling? Physically and emotionally?
Physically- the baby is digging into me every where. My bladder my ribs my lungs and especially my left side which for some reason is just the most excruciating thing ever! She even pushes my stomach straight out. I think she may be out of room in there.
Emotionally- 3rd tri has given me the cries as I'm sure it has for many of us. That and so much crap has gone wrong lately. Doesn't help that DH has been out of state for the last week and a half so I am all alone here. He did run out of drugs sat night (so he claims and from what I can tell over the phone is true) so we have been actually able to talk each night on the phone rather than him being all out of it or passing out and not waking up to his phone or the room phone. So that has helped bring my spirits up this week.

Any appointments, ultrasounds, or milestones this week?
Appt next Thurs. Don't know if I am going to get another u/s this preg I'm going to ask. I hope I will, really curious to how big this girl is now days.

What else is going on? Apples and Onions?
Apples- DH comes home Friday night. We have been talking again rather than him being strung out and me just crying. Hopefully he will stay drug free for good but the test will be when he gets back around his coworkers on Tuesday.
Onions- DH has been complaining of bad pain in his back and shoulders which shouldn't be happening since all he does is sit in class 8hrs a day. These pains started after he ran out of drugs so I am thinking it's withdrawal which is why I tried so hard to get him to quit before he left so he could start it here and finish while in Mississippi. Then hopefully he would be strong enough to say no to them when he comes back. I hope he is cause this little girl will be here soon! I'm just so afraid of losing him to the drugs again. Also we talked about it last night and decided unless the Dr does actually say no to me traveling we will go to the shower mil is throwing at the end of the month. I am in so much pain these days I really don't want to but it is such a huge thing to her we can't just not go.

@LunaBug924‌ I don't post often, but i do read, and it's always so touching to read your comments to everyone. You are incredibly supportive.

    How many weeks? 33w6d today

How are you feeling? Physically and emotionally?

Kind of crappy. I'm on bed rest now, as of last Thursday, and find myself even more exhausted than before even though I'm not doing anything anymore. Little guy gave us a scare yesterday, with contractions 6-7 minutes apart for a few hours, but fortunately they died down and we didn't have to go into L&D. Starting to have symptoms I don't remember having with my previous pregnancies: headaches, heartburn, nausea, but overall it's not too bad.

Any appointments, ultrasounds, or milestones this week? Had my regular OB appt today. Baby is looking good; estimated weight today was 5lbs9oz and his head is giant, like his siblings'. Go to the MFM on Friday for my weekly NST and fluid level check.

What else is going on? Apples and Onions?

Apples: My H is being amazing about everything. He's being super-dad to DS1 and super-husband to me with no complaints, even though he's not getting much time to himself to unwind. I want to so something special to thank him after the baby is born, but I'm not sure what yet. My office was also really great about me going on bed rest, and they've been very supportive.

Onions: Aside from the above symptoms and worries, things really aren't bad.

How are you feeling? Physically and emotionally? Good, the spotting stopped. They don't know why, everything looks good so I guess it was just random.

Any appointments, ultrasounds, or milestones this week? I have a normal appointment tomorrow. Nothing exciting happening, but in a good way.

What else is going on? Apples and Onions? Just ready for tax season to be over so I can focus on getting moved into our house and ready for this baby.

    How many weeks? 32

How are you feeling? Physically and emotionally?  Physically I have a cold - but nothing I can't handle.  Emotionally ok - had an appointment this morning where they told me I might have a secondary part to my placenta that they MAY have seen on a growth scan yesterday.  The dr. is supposed to call me tomorrow after she talks to the tech who did my previous scan.  I guess the concern is that the vessels that connect both parts of the placenta can't cross my cervix (I already have velamentous cord insertion - this would be considered vasa previa).  But there's a chance I don't have it at all.  SO i said better safe than sorry - please check for the vessels anyway - which they agreed to do at my 36 week ultrasound if not before.

Any appointments, ultrasounds, or milestones this week? Had a growth ultrasound yesterday and my 32 week appointment this morning.

What else is going on? Apples and Onions? My shower is this weekend!  I'm so excited!  But sometimes my PGAL brain is like will this jinx it?  I have to shove those thoughts out of the way.

  • Thanks for doing the check-in, @LunaBug924
Thank goodness, DH did not get my cold, and I am feeling a lot better.  :)

    How many weeks?

How are you feeling? Physically and emotionally?  Still have a bit of the cold, but it is much better.  Other than that just tired.

Any appointments, ultrasounds, or milestones this week? I have an appointment tomorrow, then one in 2 weeks, then every week after that.

What else is going on? Apples and Onions? We got our hallway painted, which was tons of work and we're really happy to get it finished.  The bad part is that we didn't have time to go grocery shopping or do any sort of meal prep this week, so now we are just scrounging in the freezer for dinner all week.

  • How many weeks? 35 weeks!

How are you feeling? Physically and emotionally? Feeling pretty good! Baby is still moving all around, so now I'm just hoping she will have flipped from breech to head down by next week's ultrasound! As my OB said, I'm officially in the home stretch now.

Any appointments, ultrasounds, or milestones this week? Had my 35 week appointment on Tuesday. Everything was looking good! Scheduled all of my weekly appointments and ultrasounds for the rest of this pregnancy, which was a real wake up call. Can't wait to see the baby on ultrasound next week!

What else is going on? Apples and Onions? Apple: my boss gave me a ton of newborn cloth diapers to add to my newborn stash, so now we're all set with NB diapers! Onion: don't have one this week (and hoping it stays that way!)

  • How many weeks? 33 weeks, 3 days

How are you feeling? Physically and emotionally? I've had better weeks. I am coming up on my loss EDD on Saturday and it's been making me feel funny all week. I'm so happy to be having this baby, but I still have some "what if" moments. My family baby shower is Saturday, so I am hoping that helps distract me.

Any appointments, ultrasounds, or milestones this week? I went on Monday. Quick appointment and everything looked good. I had to have some blood drawn because I told my doctor about the GI issues if been having, so he ran a metabolic panel and I haven't gotten the results yet. The person who drew my blood did a bad job and it hurt like a bitch this time. Next appointment, I get to look forward to the GBS swab.

What else is going on? Apples and Onions? Apples- my family baby shower is this weekend and so is spring break at work! DH and I are going away for a night, so that will be nice.

Onions- still trying to prep for my long term sub and I am blue about my loss EDD.

Hi Ladies!  LunaBug - I'm glad you're feeling better.  Thanks for keeping up with all of us.   I agree, the April Fool's announcements are just tasteless.  I didn't mind it so much for myself, but I couldn't help but wince for all of the couples that struggle with infertility and had to read those type of "jokes".

    How many weeks?  33

How are you feeling? Physically and emotionally?   Feeling ok on both fronts, other than feeling so short of breath.

Any appointments, ultrasounds, or milestones this week?   We met with our doctor this week to discuss our birth plan.  It went great!   Our doula said that she had never met with a doctor that went over things so thoroughly and she was very impressed with how supportive our doctor is of natural childbirth.  I was relieved that there were no points of contention on the birth plan.

What else is going on? Apples and Onions?   Apples - I'm so spoiled.  I have another shower on Saturday.  This one is girls only and my good friend from Denver is flying in for it.  In addition to the shower, there are a lot of other fun activities planned for the weekend.  I will be exhausted on Monday, but it will be worth it.   Onions - my boss drives me nuts.  I've asked repeatedly for her to designate who will support my territory while I'm out on leave so I can start cross-training and she just won't make a decision.   I know my DD is still 6+ weeks away, but I want to be prepared!

  • Hi @Lunabug924!  Feeling better today, but still having some crazy ups and downs.  On Tuesday I nearly cried in Target for no reason whatsoever.  I think a lot of it has to do with exhaustion.  I'm having really bad insomnia.

    How many weeks?  34 weeks!

How are you feeling? Physically and emotionally?  Feeling large and uncomfortable...my lower back is aching and the heartburn is killer.  Emotionally...exhausted and moody.  Tomorrow is a year and a half since I had Ava and I really wanted to go to the cemetery and plant flowers, since I won't be able to do it on Mother's Day like I did last year...but it's supposed to rain.  I may just try and do it Saturday if I can.

Any appointments, ultrasounds, or milestones this week?  Had my BPP on Tuesday, all went well, and my NST is tomorrow.  Having two appointments per week is really making the time fly by!

What else is going on? Apples and Onions?  Apples:  So my current manager is leaving my account and moving on, which bums me out....BUT, my new manager that's taking over for him is my mentor and was the guy who hired me into our company 8 years ago, so I am thrilled!  I was stressed out about going out on maternity leave and coming back to a new boss, but now I feel so at ease. Onions:  All work related.  I just have so much to finish up in the next few weeks before I'm out on leave.  I want to have a clear head while I'm gone, but it's so hard to focus on getting the work stuff done.  I worked from home on Tuesday and found myself pruning plants in the backyard and napping.  Really productive work day.  I can't concentrate!
