First period after birth....!?!?

UPDATE on this.. After about a 2 week period, in the middle of my first pack of pills after birth, i finally stopped bleeding. Today I have had dark brown discharge pretty much all day. Any ideas?? Should I call my OB? Or is this normal?

My son was born 12/22/13 and I breastfed for about 10 weeks. I had to stop when I returned to work. I started birth control back when I stopped so I am in my 4th week of the pills. I started my first period about 2 weeks ago, in the middle of the pack. But my period has not stopped! 2 weeks now?? Anyone else have this with the first one after giving birth? I am on same BC as I was before I got pregnant and never had any problems.

    Yeah, I have the most regular textbook cycles known to man buy my first 2 periods after baby were weird.

    It's expected. New hormones. Old hormones. Still losing weight. Loss of sleep all play into it. By the 3rd month though it's a all pretty normal again.
