High-Risk Pregnancy

*** Wednesday Bedrest Check-in ***

Good morning ladies

How did you sleep?

Any new pregnancy symptoms, cravings, or aversions?

Upcoming appointments, milestones, or updates? (Ticker change?)

QOTD: How has being considered high-risk or being on bedrest changed your thoughts on another pregnancy? How does dh/so feel about you being pregnant again after this little one's arrival?

Re: *** Wednesday Bedrest Check-in ***

  • I haven't been able to sleep in a week. I have been on BR since March 13th due to a preterm labor scare. Recently, I have felt miserable. Been going in twice a week for the NSTs and Ultrasounds. LO seems to be doing well, but I am roughing it. No matter what time of day I try to rest, I can never fully fall asleep. I actually just tried to nap and right when I got super comfy, she started kicking up a storm and I had to go pee again! Had really bad BH on Friday for about 5 hours. They have definitely kicked up a notch since then! I will be 37 weeks this Saturday. Doctors say they wont stop labor this next time around. I have my next appointment tomorrow. BR is making me a bit depressed, I am really missing being able to do things! Hubby is starting to get over it now too. I spend most of my day TRYING to sleep.

I have always wanted a big family and being a FTM, this has definitely been an experience. I just hope in the future, the pregnancy goes a little smoother!!!

  • Sleep was better last night. Luckily with being off work I can nap during the day. So I don't feel like a zombie all day.

Nothing new just trying to take it easy. Dealing with this sinus pressure and our over dusty house is driving me up a wall!

29 weeks today! Wednesdays are always my favorite since I know it's another week down with little man safely inside.

QOTD: I was high risk with DS who is now 4. For the longest we thought DS would be an only child since we were both trigger shy and didn't want another high risk pregnancy. Well we figured what the hey maybe it was just a fluke. Well it wasn't, the exact same issues causing preterm labor before 30 weeks popped up this time. DH and I both agree, two biological children is enough for us. DH will most likely be getting the big snip later this year.

  • Hello fellow bed resters! I hope you're all having as good of a day as possible.

I slept pretty well last night despite the fact that I've developed a horrible sinus cold.

I'm craving yogurt today! I had one this afternoon and it was so cold, creamy, fruity, and delicious. I've said it before and I'll say it again - food has never tasted so good in my life!

My weekly appointment is tomorrow! I have a NST so I'll get to see how my little guy is doing, also looking forward to discussing my plan of care with my MW. My bp shot up to 145/95 today which is the highest it's been since I was diagnosed with pre-e. I checked it pretty frequently throughout the day and it's gone back down thank goodness.

QOTD: My husband and I always wanted 2 kids, fairly close together. After all of this I would be okay waiting a few years. I think I need some time to emotionally, physically, and even financially prepare for another possible high risk pregnancy.
  • Hello ladies!!

Last night I didn't sleep as well as normal. But I also feel like I shouldn't complain because some of you guys have it so much worse! Most nights I sleep pretty well.

    No new pregnancy cravings really.

Today I am officially 35 weeks! :D Time certainly has flown.

QOTD: After the stress from being high risk, I do not think I will have another baby. Since I am only 22, I am aware that that might change. But as of right now, I am terrified to be in this same position again.

Hope you all have a good day!

  • Happy Wednesday!

Slept ok, was up for a while but only an hour, sat on my ball and read a bit and then was able to get back to sleep. Very thankful for that!

Had my NST/appt today and it was more eventful than usual. He wasn't having accelerations so they did a BPP and he was SO still, they could get him to move/jump by mashing on him and buzzing him but it was freaking me out; he did pass though. I was contracting like crazy and I think that was adding to it. Saw the doc next and we talked about how I felt his movements were decreased the last few days. We decided to do one more strip in the office instead of having me go to L&D and we agreed to increase my testing to 2x weekly. Of course the little stinker was great on the last strip and now has been having a dance party since we got home. I'm so relieved.

Not really excited about the extra testing, but was pretty freaked today so I think overall it will be reassuring. I'm thankful that at least we're far enough along that if he needs to be born, he'll likely do fine. What an ordeal though!

QOTD: We're done having bio kids, at least I'm like 99.9% sure. Between having a preemie the first time around and then all the drama this time I really can't imagine getting pregnant again knowingly. I think I'll try an IUD postpartum and the DH will have the big V in 2-3 years. We may foster or adopt in the future though. I've always seen us having 3 kids, but who knows.
