Cloth Diapering

Another Newbie Prepping Question

I have done so much research and read so many responses to other threads about this, I feel like I'm confusing myself! I need help sorting out my loads to prep (what can be done together/separately, etc.)

So I have some inserts to prep. 22 bamboo inserts for pocket diapers(I'm pretty sure they are bamboo rayon) and 3 hemp/cotton blend quick-dry inserts. The hemp/cotton inserts say to wash 3 times to strip the natural oils. I also have 6 birdseye cotton flats, 10 flannel cotton flats to prep, and 6 cotton/polyester fitteds.

Questions:
1. What can I wash together? (should the hemp be done separately because of the oils?)
2. Do I have to separate the bamboo rayon from the others? (Should I just treat them like synthetic?)
3. Could I wash the flats and hemp/cotton inserts together? (what about the cotton/poly blend fitteds?)
4. I have pocket shells to prep as well, can I prep those with the bamboo inserts?

Thanks ladies!!

    I would prep all cotton and hemp together for many load wash/dry and then everything else just wash/dry once. I would think that if something is a cotton/poly blend there wouldn't be natural oil issues and I would wash it like a synthetic (someone else correct me if I'm wrong). Depending on total load size you could combine everything up after the first cotton/hemp load as well. Eta: @RachelCA29‌ I'm stalking you
    @Mapleme I don't mind it ... :)

  • I just wanted to update and say thanks ladies!

    I finished all my prepping last night and got everything loaded onto our "diaper cart". I actually feel ready for this baby now ... we have cloth diapers to put on him! I should probably practice folding flats some more - but if all else fails I've got lots of prefolds until I get fast at flats!

    Thanks again!!

  • Our due dates are very close!  Isn't having all the diapers prepped fun?  I guess I ought to do that this weekend.  But I don't have drawer pulls on my changing table, so I can't open the drawers to put them in there, haha.
    Practice all you want, but remember that baby is going to give you a crash course really quickly.  You'll be folding so many diapers that first few weeks you'll be a pro in no time!
    And I still want to eat your siggy pic.
