Re: ***2nd tri Check-in 4/1/14***
Failed glucose. Started insulin last Thursday. Follow up with OB tomorrow and dietician on Thursday. Good thing though my levels have been within range and as long as it's managed there should be no risks to baby.
When I was in last Thursday MSAFP wasn't back yet and was expected Friday but he said no news is good news and since I have an appointment tomorrow I figured we would talk about it then.
With the diabetes news it was a tough week but I got a new swimsuit today!
QOTW: My husband is such a nice giving person. I hope our child gets that. Not that I'm mean but he goes out of his way to do things I'd never do! From me I hope they get my um hmmmm... probably my creativness!

After 4+ years TTC
Things are still going good for me! I did get approved to start working part time (yay!) and I'm so excited. I'm hoping that means it'll push off when the doctor takes me off full time.
We had our appt on Monday and the girls are doing really well. Despite Scarlett doing ballet on my cervix it's still nice and strong and coming in at 4.5. She's still breech (baby A) and Violet's (B) still vertex, so they're still kicking each other in the face. These babies are going to come out black and blue at this rate lol.
We had our work shower and family/friend shower already and now comes the fun part (to me anyways lol!) of organizing everything! This month we start all of our birth classes so those will keep us busy! Thursday we have our growth scan appt where we get to see the girls for awhile as they get their measurements.
Love reading everyone's updates!
QOTD: I hope they get my sassiness and husband's near photographic memory.
@HeatherHam10 It took me a good while to feel movement too, despite the fact there were two in there. Dang anterior placentas!
Nothing much to report over here. Babies are moving like crazy! I love watching my stomach move when they kick and other people are able to feel them! It's so very exciting!
I have my first appointment with my new OB on the 15th. It seems so far away, I do not like waiting every 4 weeks to see the doctor. But I guess that means that things are going well enough to not have to constantly be seen, like I was before.
I have majorly upped my calorie intake so that I can grow these babies as big as possible!
Other than that things are finally boring around here!
Siggy warning...

Hi ladies! My update is pretty simple. Puking, nausea, puking and more nausea. Which is odd considering I'm almost 22w. I think I probably have acid reflux combined with babys head squishing my organs since she's breech. I'm thrilled to be pregnant and have often knocked on wood that it's been pretty easy for far, but the past couple weeks, I'm starting to really get how hard physically this can be on my body. I've switched my pills to the mornings in the hopes that I don't yak the up with my nightly yaking after dinner. And I'm trying to squeeze in as many liquid calories as I can with protein shakes and whatnot when I do have an appetite. But my relationship with food right now is a rocky one. I'll do anything for this little girl, and I'm "keeping my eye on the prize" the best I can!
On a happier note, I know baby girl can hear outside of the womb now. I read to her regularly and always wonder if it's for nothing. But the other morning when DH's alarm clock when off, she JOLTED. It cracked me up but reaffirm her little ears are listening. or maybe it's a coincidence...but I think not!
QOTW: Since our baby is not genetically related to either of us, it will all be nurture vs nature. But I do hope that she learns integrity from both of us, to always do the right thing even if no one is looking, and always to stand up for what you believe in. I hope she's never ashamed of who she is and has compassion for those less fortunate than she is, the elderly, children, and animals. I hope she is down to earth and silly like both of us.

Hi ladies!
20w4d here and just had our anatomy scan on Monday....we are officially team PINK! Both babies were measuring right on track and maybe a little ahead but they looked perfect according to the MFM. A was 13 ounces and breech and B was 11 ounces and vertex and they are kicking each other in the face every chance they get! Their preferred time is at 3AM, which doesn't make it easy to fall back asleep! We are so excited although absolutely no one thought we were having girls. Everyone swore two boys or a boy and a girl. I think DH is still a little shell shocked but it's only a matter of time before the girls are here and have him wrapped around their little fingers.
QOTW: I hope that the babies get my personality and logical thinking and definitely my DH's intelligence and athleticism!

Next appointment is next week -- glucose test and ultrasound to check growth and the position of my placenta.
Otherwise we are just forging ahead with nursery renovations and other house projects we want to finish before the baby comes. My MIL sent me a picture of our baby shower invites and they are adorable! Mr. Baby is getting more active with his kicks, but still not strong enough for my wife to feel them (I have an anterior placenta plus a well-padded belly and both of those are working against us -- it's a lot to kick through). I can see his movement sometimes though -- it looks like a little earthquake in my belly. Hilarious.
QOTW: I want him to love food, which we both love -- cooking AND eating -- and I want him to love books, which I love. I'd also like him to be MUCH better at sports than I am -- I don't enjoy anything about them, and it's hard to lead a healthy lifestyle when you are hopeless at anything athletic. My wife was an athlete, and he isn't getting her genes, but hopefully she can work some magic on him (and/or he'll inherit athleticism from the donor). In terms of genetics, I tried to cancel out my bad vision, fat genes and short stature by picking a donor with perfect vision, a healthy weight and decent height -- so I'm rooting for the donor on those things! I'd like him to get my curly hair though.

@lizarella82 Sorry to hear about your kitty
Things are going well here. I had a little sleeping trouble the other night and am glad it was just one night. Other than that, things are uneventful which I love!
QOTW: DD already has DH's stubborn thinking, so I'm hoping this LO does not! DD also has his interest in trying new things, which I'm glad she got because I'm not so risky. From me, I hope she gets my motivation to get things done!
I'm 18 weeks today, and I've gotten control over my eating habits somewhat. DH is more flexible with what he wants to eat so that's been much easier to manage. My nausea had come back a few days last week and I hated having to take Zofran again ... had to wait 3 days before I was regular again.
My back has been getting more achy since last week, trying to find a better position to sleep in is tough when u have a chunky DH, and a queen size bed. .. no room for added pillows! I think I may buy a pregnancy pillow if I can find one not so massive.
Qotw: I hope that our LO's get my pride and independent nature, and get DHs sense of humor.

Nothing too much new to report here. 15 weeks and next appt is thursday of next week.
I go back and forth about being team green because when I met my DH I told him I always thought it would be cool if when I had a child to wait to find out. I remember saying that it was the one surprise in life that you would be happy with. Well now that I am pregnant I am second guessing what I said all those years ago. My DH really isn't opinionated so its odd that this one of very few things he's been firm about. So for now I am going with him but of course can't make up my mind.
QOTW: I hope LO gets some of my DH laid back attitude and his hand eye coordination skills. From me I can't decide, but I am pretty hard on myself.
I am doing very well. 24 weeks today!! Yay for V-day!! Had my OB appt. today and everything is great. Weight was the same as last week (+6-10lbs depending on scale) and b/p was good. Eli's HB was 155 and he kicked the doppler wand a couple times. It was so cute = ). I am trying to walk more and just got back from a 3 mile walk, it felt good to get outside. I have two 5ks planned for this month, so I hope I feel up to it! Over-all I am feeling wonderful. I had heart burn issues but my OB gave me a script for Protonix and now I am not having any issues.
Our crib is actually being delivered tonight (squeeee!!!) and DH is busy working on the nursery so we can put it in there. So exiciting!!
QOTW: I am hoping he will get my blonde curly hair and DH's blue eyes and dimpled chin = ) I know those are physical characteristics but I just think he would be so fricken cute!!

We are looking at a day care next Monday and narrowed down the nursery color scheme and furniture. Once we take down the wall paper and clean or replace the carpets, I'll order the furniture. I think I've officially hit the nesting phase and my DH has been awesome. He rented a rug cleaner and cleaned the family room carpets and organized our workout/dog toy corner. We are going to my cousin's wedding in two weeks and I bought a dress on zulilly, but unfortunately it was way too tight on the chest (darn rib cage expanded so much) I bought another one at ann taylor (empire waist) so I'm hoping the new dress works out.
QOTW: I hope our little boy inherits my independent streak and drive/focus and my DH's empathy and caring nature. Can't believe we are half way there already!
We're working on our nursery and trying to agree on a name. My shower invites are almost done and planning just started.
Qotw: I'm hoping baby inherits my husband's patience and mellow behavior
