  • @Allison7 you are so great to keep track of all of us!

Failed glucose. Started insulin last Thursday. Follow up with OB tomorrow and dietician on Thursday. Good thing though my levels have been within range and as long as it's managed there should be no risks to baby.

When I was in last Thursday MSAFP wasn't back yet and was expected Friday but he said no news is good news and since I have an appointment tomorrow I figured we would talk about it then.

With the diabetes news it was a tough week but I got a new swimsuit today!

QOTW: My husband is such a nice giving person. I hope our child gets that. Not that I'm mean but he goes out of his way to do things I'd never do! From me I hope they get my um hmmmm... probably my creativness!

  • So first of all, let me apologize for getting the check-in up so late tonight! I had a busy day at work and then to top it off, I am a chapter advisor for my sorority at a local college and every annual report was due today - and that means they all have to be read and approved by me today. Total overkill.

Things with me are good! We had the a/s on Saturday and the baby is looking good. DH has bronchitis and an ear infection and the u/s tech was grumpy about working on a Saturday, so I was hands down the happiest person in the room! Baby was super crazy with the movements. We started out head down, then went breach, and did quite a few flips during the hour. She also punched the wand when the tech was jiggling it (for the 10th time) trying to get her to move her right hand for a picture. It was pretty funny.

Other than that, feeling movement has become quite regular over the past week. Everyday it gets stronger and it is so cool to feel - even if it does give me heartburn some of the time ;)

QOTW: So from me, I hope that she inherits compassion and sympathy. From DH I hope she inherits his drive and determination. He can focus a little better than I can!

  • Hello lovely ladies! We are 22w and moving right along. I had a blast videotaping carrot do karate on my belly the other night. Daddy finally got a hand on all these wild movement, he was so excited to feel more than just a thump. Kiddo love to dance on my cervix and play soccer with my bladder. I'm having irrational fears already that we'll be breech with a scheduled section! Baby shower isn't til May 31, but I sent my list to the BFF ( she's a super planner!)

QOTW: I have a pregnancy journal that asks questions like this, l love it! I hope kiddo has dads extraordinary patience and my love for reading!

  • Thank you @Allison7 for running such an awesome check-in! I can't believe tomorrow I'll be 28 weeks and in third tri! Cra-zy!

Things are still going good for me! I did get approved to start working part time (yay!) and I'm so excited. I'm hoping that means it'll push off when the doctor takes me off full time.

We had our appt on Monday and the girls are doing really well. Despite Scarlett doing ballet on my cervix it's still nice and strong and coming in at 4.5. She's still breech (baby A) and Violet's (B) still vertex, so they're still kicking each other in the face. These babies are going to come out black and blue at this rate lol.

We had our work shower and family/friend shower already and now comes the fun part (to me anyways lol!) of organizing everything! This month we start all of our birth classes so those will keep us busy! Thursday we have our growth scan appt where we get to see the girls for awhile as they get their measurements.

    Love reading everyone's updates!

QOTD: I hope they get my sassiness and husband's near photographic memory.

@HeatherHam10 It took me a good while to feel movement too, despite the fact there were two in there. Dang anterior placentas!

Hi Everyone- @Allison7 you are correct, scan is next Tuesday and I couldn't be more pumped. I really, really need some good news and just seeing LO will lift me up. My 7 year old kitty died Monday, unexpectedly, so I have been worried about how all the stress and crying would affect the baby, but I've been reassured by many of the wonderful women here that it's ok to grieve and it really eased my mind. As always, so grateful for each and every one of you!
Other than that I feel good, probably gained more than I need to in the last few days because I've been eating my feelings, but trying to stay active as well. I am impatiently waiting to feel some movement but nothing definitive yet. I have lots of to-dos that I just haven't had the energy to tackle yet, so my goal for the coming weeks is to start researching care options for when I go back to work and decide on a stroller/travel system.

ETA QOTW: I hope he/she gets my appreciation for nature, and DH's endless optimism.

  • Hi all!
Nothing much to report over here. Babies are moving like crazy! I love watching my stomach move when they kick and other people are able to feel them! It's so very exciting!

I have my first appointment with my new OB on the 15th. It seems so far away, I do not like waiting every 4 weeks to see the doctor. But I guess that means that things are going well enough to not have to constantly be seen, like I was before.

I have majorly upped my calorie intake so that I can grow these babies as big as possible!

Other than that things are finally boring around here!

  • Hi ladies!

20w4d here and just had our anatomy scan on Monday....we are officially team PINK! Both babies were measuring right on track and maybe a little ahead but they looked perfect according to the MFM. A was 13 ounces and breech and B was 11 ounces and vertex and they are kicking each other in the face every chance they get! Their preferred time is at 3AM, which doesn't make it easy to fall back asleep! We are so excited although absolutely no one thought we were having girls. Everyone swore two boys or a boy and a girl. I think DH is still a little shell shocked but it's only a matter of time before the girls are here and have him wrapped around their little fingers.

QOTW: I hope that the babies get my personality and logical thinking and definitely my DH's intelligence and athleticism!

  • Hi all! My OB appointment last week was uneventful. BP normal, baby's hb normal, fundal height normal, pee normal. I did gain 6 lbs in 4 weeks which I was worried about (I started out overweight so I am supposed to limit my overall weight gain to 20-25 lbs), but my OB said that growth spurts are normal and she wasn't concerned. It does mean I only have 13 lbs to go for the rest of my pregnancy, so I am trying to be pretty careful from now on. So far so good this week!

Next appointment is next week -- glucose test and ultrasound to check growth and the position of my placenta.

Otherwise we are just forging ahead with nursery renovations and other house projects we want to finish before the baby comes. My MIL sent me a picture of our baby shower invites and they are adorable! Mr. Baby is getting more active with his kicks, but still not strong enough for my wife to feel them (I have an anterior placenta plus a well-padded belly and both of those are working against us -- it's a lot to kick through). I can see his movement sometimes though -- it looks like a little earthquake in my belly. Hilarious.

QOTW: I want him to love food, which we both love -- cooking AND eating -- and I want him to love books, which I love. I'd also like him to be MUCH better at sports than I am -- I don't enjoy anything about them, and it's hard to lead a healthy lifestyle when you are hopeless at anything athletic. My wife was an athlete, and he isn't getting her genes, but hopefully she can work some magic on him (and/or he'll inherit athleticism from the donor). In terms of genetics, I tried to cancel out my bad vision, fat genes and short stature by picking a donor with perfect vision, a healthy weight and decent height -- so I'm rooting for the donor on those things! I'd like him to get my curly hair though. :)

  • Hi ladies. .. so nice catching up with everyone's progress! @Allison7‌ just echoing what everyone else has been saying. .. love the way you run the check in!

I'm 18 weeks today, and I've gotten control over my eating habits somewhat. DH is more flexible with what he wants to eat so that's been much easier to manage. My nausea had come back a few days last week and I hated having to take Zofran again ... had to wait 3 days before I was regular again.

My back has been getting more achy since last week, trying to find a better position to sleep in is tough when u have a chunky DH, and a queen size bed. .. no room for added pillows! I think I may buy a pregnancy pillow if I can find one not so massive.

Qotw: I hope that our LO's get my pride and independent nature, and get DHs sense of humor.

  • Hey Ladies!! I just got home from my appt. I had an u/s and both babies were perfect. They are both head down now (baby boy was breech last time) and bumping noggins. Baby boy is 1 lb 12 oz, and baby girl is 1 lb 9 oz. My cervix was nice and closed and above 3. So, I was happy with today's report. I also had my glucose test and will be anxiously awaiting the results tomorrow. I now get to start going for check ups every other week. Next on my to do list is schedule the movers and the painter for the nursery.

QOTW: This is a tough one! There are so many good qualities about DH, and I guess a few about me too. ;) We are both very easygoing and laid-back, so I really hope we don't end up with intense kids!! I hope they are caring and compassionate towards others like me and also always stand up for what they believe in. From DH...He is the sweetest friendliest guy ever, who everyone loves, so I hope they are like that too. He's also super smart, hard working, and has an awesome dry witty sense of humor. I can't wait to see how they turn out!

  • Thank you to @allison7 for running the check in!

Nothing too much new to report here. 15 weeks and next appt is thursday of next week.

I go back and forth about being team green because when I met my DH I told him I always thought it would be cool if when I had a child to wait to find out. I remember saying that it was the one surprise in life that you would be happy with. Well now that I am pregnant I am second guessing what I said all those years ago. My DH really isn't opinionated so its odd that this one of very few things he's been firm about. So for now I am going with him but of course can't make up my mind.

QOTW: I hope LO gets some of my DH laid back attitude and his hand eye coordination skills. From me I can't decide, but I am pretty hard on myself.

  • Sorry I have been MIA!!

I am doing very well. 24 weeks today!! Yay for V-day!! Had my OB appt. today and everything is great. Weight was the same as last week (+6-10lbs depending on scale) and b/p was good. Eli's HB was 155 and he kicked the doppler wand a couple times. It was so cute = ). I am trying to walk more and just got back from a 3 mile walk, it felt good to get outside. I have two 5ks planned for this month, so I hope I feel up to it! Over-all I am feeling wonderful. I had heart burn issues but my OB gave me a script for Protonix and now I am not having any issues.

Our crib is actually being delivered tonight (squeeee!!!) and DH is busy working on the nursery so we can put it in there. So exiciting!!

QOTW: I am hoping he will get my blonde curly hair and DH's blue eyes and dimpled chin = ) I know those are physical characteristics but I just think he would be so fricken cute!!

  • Thank you as always to @Allison7 for running such a friendly check-in!

18 weeks today.  Since I vented about MIL last week, I gotta give her props today.  She took me to Pea in the Pod and literally spent over $1,000 on maternity clothes for me.  I was like, "Just because I like it doesn't mean I *have* to get it, we can narrow this down a bit," and she said, "I only have one daughter-in-law, and I'm only *going* to have one daughter-in-law, and I wished someone had done this for me when I was pregnant, and it's my pleasure to do it."  (DH is an only child.)  So...I am going to be the best-dressed pregnant lady EVER.  3 dresses, two skirts, a few tops, a pair of slacks, a couple of wraps.  I am actually hoping to find a few comparable pieces at Old Navy and return a few things, so the credit will go back on her credit card, because I feel very guilty about how much she spent.

QOTW: krdesi, I hear ya on the "hope not"!  I am hoping Munchkin inherits her Daddy's silliness and playfulness, and his sincerity and generosity.  I hope she inherits my productivity and empathy.  And I can't wait to see what's hers and hers alone.

@jenschultz85 for years I always said I didn't want to know and I wanted it to be a surpise.  Well DH really wants to know so I let him win and now I'm dying to know!  I'm ready to have a girly nursery or a boy nursery and I can't imagine not knowing.  ALso someone told me once it's still a surpise when they tell you at your ultrasound and I thought she had a point.  Wanted you to know you weren't the only one changing or possibly changing your mind!

  • Could you add me to the list? Somehow I missed the jump to second tri.

We've had a tough few weeks, you may have seen my posts about bleeding and it turning out to be placenta previa. After 72 hours of bedrest I had a whole week of not bleeding and was allowed back to work (although still with lots of activity restriction). Unfortunately yesterday had bleeding again and even more scary to me - pretty severe cramping. The OB says the babies are fine. I got a little freaked out b/c one had a HR of 125 (the other one was in the 150s) but he said that the normal range is 115-160 and not to worry ... I'll give that a go! Anyway I'm back on bedrest another week. It's been an adjustment. I miss my work, going outside, prenatal yoga ... but it will be all be worth it. A/S is next week!

QOTW: I hope they get DH's kindness, creativity, and curiosity. From me I hope they get drive (but with less anxiety)

  • Thanks for running a great check in @allison7.  We are 20 weeks and officially started our baby registry on amazon.  I created a private wishlist a few weeks ago and was slowly adding items. I then turned it into a baby registry and they have this great option to build your "advice team".  I added my sister and friends and they suggested items for my registry, commented on things I had.  Great feedback and stuff that I didn't even think about, I'd highly recommend using the advice team feature on amazon.

We are looking at a day care next Monday and narrowed down the nursery color scheme and furniture.  Once we take down the wall paper and clean or replace the carpets, I'll order the furniture.  I think I've officially hit the nesting phase and my DH has been awesome. He rented a rug cleaner and cleaned the family room carpets and organized our workout/dog toy corner.  We are going to my cousin's wedding in two weeks and I bought a dress on zulilly, but unfortunately it was way too tight on the chest (darn rib cage expanded so much)  I bought another one at ann taylor (empire waist) so I'm hoping the new dress works out.

QOTW:  I hope our little boy inherits my independent streak and drive/focus and my DH's empathy and caring nature.  Can't believe we are half way there already!

  • Sorry for my late check in..We're now 26 weeks. I have an appt with the OB on Monday as well as my glucose test. I'm really hoping I pass it.
We're working on our nursery and trying to agree on a name. My shower invites are almost done and planning just started.

Qotw: I'm hoping baby inherits my husband's patience and mellow behavior :) but inherits my strong and friendly personality :)
