M/S getting worse?

I am 10w6d and I feel like my m/s is progressively getting worse over the past two weeks. I was nauseous starting at 3 weeks (the reason I took a test) and then all of a sudden I am vomitting the last two weeks. It seems like I am vomitting more often each day. Is this happening to anyone else?

Re: M/S getting worse?

  • I was worst at ten weeks but I seem a bit better this week - 11 weeks - (knock on wood). Didn't start puking till 9 1/2 weeks myself.

Me too! While I'm not puking I'm definitely noticing I need to really pay attention to my tummy and eat constantly. I should probably be waking up for a snack at night so it's not so bad in the morning.

11 weeks was the worst by far for me. I started to feel better pretty soon into 12 weeks. Hang in there!

  • Ugh, mine is getting really bad.  We didn't know how far along I was due to wonky BFing cycles, so at my U/S on Thursday, I found out I'm 2 weeks further behind than we based my first EDD on my LMP.  I was so bummed that I have 2 more weeks of MS ahead of me.  I'm approaching 10 weeks, and yesterday and today have been by far the worst so far.  I didn't have any MS with DS, and I did not realize how lucky I was until now!
Me: unexplained infertility - annovulatory DH: testicular cancer survivor!! TTC since June 2009 BFP May 11, 2012 EDD January 24, 2013 June 1, 2012 - first u/s, heartbeat 124 BPM!! • My OB said it peaks around 10ish weeks. Mine started to improve at 11 weeks but there is a wide range of normal. Hang in there

  • I am 14w0d and it's the worst it has ever been. Horse crap. However I did get Sea Bands and the store last night and they have really helped me out. At least my hunger returned and I am no longer throwing up my morning coffee... just everything after that. Oh joy!

  • Week 11 is when I puked for the first time.  Not fun, on top of being sick with a cold.

  • Yes. This is tough. I literally wake up in the morning and say "please do not throw up a lot today".
I actually had to have IV fluids I'm throwing up so much. I don't eat anything after 3pm and walk right up to bed the second my husband gets home from work. My nights are suddenly worse than my days.

Mine started getting bad around 10w but is didn't let up, I actually ended up
In the ER this past weekend because I had gallbladder spasms from throwing up so much. Very painful. Anyway long story short they ran some tests, and determined that I can't tolerate the iron supplement in my prenatal vitamins, so the dr. recommended me to switch and take one without the iron supplement. I called my OB and she confermed that is what I should do, I just have to make sure I eat an iron rich diet. So that means lots of spinich and raisins for me. But the nausea is much better, and I haven't gotten sick since. And on the plus side I got to see the baby which is doing fine!

  • I am 12w3d and I feel like it's getting worse... it's definitely not getting better!! I finally caved and asked my OB for a prescription for Zofran. I've been throwing up just about every morning since 10w, and today I couldn't even get through a meeting at work... DH is picking up the prescription for me on his way home. Has anyone else tried Zofran yet?

  • I was at the ER earlier this week for fluids and IV Zofran.  I wanted to die. So far I've been better for the last day or so on a regimen of Zofran and Reglan.  I was really hoping to avoid this as my last pregnancy was pretty miserable but that was NOTHING compared to the misery I felt earlier this week. I'm thrilled to have a baby. Not thrilled to be pregnant right now.

PSA - Zofran is the most constipating thing I have ever taken. Worse than opioids I had after surgery a few years ago.  Stock up on the Colace.

  • My doctor also told me it is safe to take meclizine (over the counter motion sickness stuff) if unisom and zofran are not helping enough...I was told I could take half a tablet twice per day if needed. It did seem to help when they other meds were not helping much...now I alternate which med I take but still only take if absolutely needed.

  • Zofran works fabulous for me on the mornings when I'm feeling extra pukey.  So far I have been doing ok with it and it usually goes away by mid morning.  I do have a friend who is also pregnant and she is 18 weeks and still horribly nauseated and throwing up with no end in sight and nothing is working for her.  She has tried zofran and it doesnt help her.

  • Zofran is a Godsend but I will caution you that it will cause sever constipation and hardening of the stool. Go ahead and get a stool softener and drink A LOT of fluids or you will fill like you are giving birth from a different "end".
  • 10 weeks was by far the worst for me. It is slowly getting better!!!
