IVF #2 Baseline Appt Tomorrow

So just an update, I am finally at the start of IVF #2 this week. My last bcp was on Sunday and I'm two days medication free, yippie.

Though I feel good mentally about going into this round IVF with PGD, yesterday and today my body hasn't felt the best. I have some pretty bad cramping, a little spotting, and "heavy" boobs. Most of my concerns are based on the fact that back in Feb when I was supposed to do IVF #2 I had a positive beta as part of the b/w screening they do before letting you start your stimm meds. That positive (very short lived) result of course stopped that round of IVF.

I know it is a long shot that this could ever happen to me again given the bcp prep and the lack of that much bding this month, but I feel like I should POAS anyway before my appt tomorrow morning. The only sticks I have though are ones that only detect a high amount of HCG, something like over 100. Is it worth it to do it or should I just have my b/w done in the am? If there is an issue the nurses will obviously call me to let me know.

<sigh> Oh the mind games we torment ourselves with sometimes X_X

Oh man, that is a tough one. Maybe the extra estrogen from the BCP is making you feel pregnancy symptoms... but then again, we know our bodies. If it were me id POAS... but then again I pee every month! Best to you

So excited that you are starting 2nd IVF cycle.
Since you were on BC you don't know what dpo you are, correct. I wouldn't waste the tests if it needs hcg to be over 100. But that's just me. I'm a little anti-POAS at the moment though.

Your nurse will call you with bw results so you will find out anyway.

Although I'd think the chances of getting pregnant on BCPs would be pretty tiny, I know I'd be peeing on that stick if it were me (and I suspect you'll be driving yourself a little crazy if you don't), so while I'd like to advise you to take the high road and hold off, well,...

I'm going to take the high road and not POAS. Very doubtful it would be a + result given the bcp prep. However, it did happen back in Feb so it's been on my mind. Less than 24hours until the appt, so I'm sure I can hold out.

JimBobCooter - We actually can't decide on banking or not at this point. It will all depend on the response I get, how many are retrieved, how they fertilize and grow in their first few days. Once we're at that point the RE and embryologist will guide us in what to do. If there's enough and all looks good, we hopefully won't have to bank and do a 2nd retrieval. So, really we have to wait and see what happens with this cycle.

So excited for you. I would wait because the last time I poas it didn't become positive until day of period and was squinter . I had blood work and was over 200:( so apparently the ones I had were crap! Good luck with everything! Fx this is it for you:)

Thanks everyone!!!! Baseline and b/w done for the day. Got the official go ahead and first shot of many to come was done about an hour ago. Here we go!!!!
