Cloth Diapering

2 Q's

1. I need to get a few more large wetbags for DC. Right now we use Planetwise, and I love them, but wondering if something cheaper works just as well? Or is PW really worth the higher price?

2. Cheapest place to buy Gerber prefolds for burp cloths? And which kind do I get?

Re: 2 Q's

  • I think for dc cheaper wet bags are fine. My dc usually puts everything in plastic shopping bags.

  • I love my Kangasac bag, at least as much as my planetwise one.

It's about $5 cheaper than planetwise.

  • Do you have any prefolds in your stash? We just use regular diaper prefolds as burp cloths instead of buying separate burp cloths. Just an idea.

  • Yeah I was gifted some of the Gerber ones as burp cloths. And they are worthless and just "sad" compared to "real" diapers!

No prefolds. We just use pockets/AIOs, so I'm trying to decide if it would be worthwhile to buy the better quality (and more $$) prefolds, or to just go with the Gerber ones. I got some of the gauze ones (only option they had) last night, but they seem super thin on the 2 outer panels. I may look for the 3-ply birdseye instead.
  • As pack of 6 Osocozy Size 1 are $12 on Amazon.  They are sooooooo worth it.

  • We have a huge spitter so we go through TONS of burp rags.  We have around 45 rags and will run out if I don't launder them every couple of days.  I have a couple sets of Gerber (from Target).  But I prefer the Babies R Us generic.  They are $16.99 a 12 pack and I got them on a sale buy one pack get the second pack 50% off.  So 24 for $25 plus tax.  I could not get "actual" prefolds for that cost so even though they are not premium quality I came out ahead $ wise.
