Membrane Stripping

I will be 40 weeks at my next appt. I am trying hit a VBAC after a csection with my guest due to size. I didn't have Braxton hicks, contractions, or even dilate to 1cm with her. At my 39 week appt I was 1.5 cm dilated and had a "very soft" cervix. The midwife offered to strip my membranes but I declined. Just curios what others thoughts are on having them stripped? If anyone has had a successful VBAC after the stripping?

I'd have them try it.  They tried to strip my membranes before both my VBACs.  I have no idea if it helped or not.  It's not going to make anything start if your body isn't ready.  Good luck!
