Hi everyone.
I have lurked on this board a bit and have decided to jump in. It has been a particularly rough couple of weeks for me.
So a little about us...I am 29, soon to be 30. My DW (C as I refer to her on the LGBT Parenting board) is 29 as well. We started the TTC process in July 2013. We are using frozen sperm from a bank. Our donor is someone who is willing to be known after any children turn 18.
Here is a brief synopsis of our journey so far:
- In July I had a HSG which showed a slight dip at the top of my uterus but nothing else. I started Femara and we planned for IUI #1 but timing with the shipment of sperm didn't work out.
- August - October we did IUIs 1-3 which were all BFNs. All were medicated with Femara and monitored.
- November 2013 I had laparoscopic surgery and also a hysteroscopy. As I was afraid of,
I had endometriosis which was the reason for the three BFNs. Also, that dip in my uterus turned out to be a pretty decent septum. That was fixed. Any pregnancy I might have had before this would have resulted in a loss.
- December/January - we moved to Gonal-F. I over responded and had 6 mature eggs. As a result, we cancelled that cycle. The resulting cycle was 46 days as I ended up on Provera to start my period again. My cycles are normally pretty regular, thankfully.
- February 2014 - we dialed back the Gonal-F and I had three good follies! IUI #4.1 went well. I started spotting heavily on 9 dpiui and called to go for my beta early, wanting to get it over. I took a FRER when I got home and had a faint second line. My beta ended up being 7.5. I bled very heavily over the weekend but still held on to hope. I took more FRERs over the weekend and they got darker until that Monday morning. My beta came back at 2.4.
That brings us to now. I'm currently at CD 32 and started spotting lightly yesterday. We are just waiting to get started again. We have two vials left. Our plan is to move forward with a fifth IUI. We will add in progesterone this time. If this cycle fails, then we are moving to IVF, provided that the financing comes through.
C and I travel 1.5 hours one way to our RE's office. It is the closest. Thankfully my insurance is wonderful for IUI. We have no IVF coverage though. Since I have to have timely blood work done, all of our appointments are between 7-7:30 am. That also helps me get to work on time for the most part.
Well, that is our journey. Though it hasn't been a very long one, it has been exhausting, mentally and physically. Thank you for taking the time to read through it.
I think I was doing well emotionally until the c/p. We had a vacation timed for the week after and it was very helpful. Now, in the past four days, I have found out that the wife of one of C's cousins is pregnant. It isn't a good situation and she almost wasn't going to continue with her pregnancy. This sent me into a tailspin when I found out. Today, a semi-close friend finally told us that she is pregnant. Turns out she is having twin boys. She recently was telling us she wanted to leave her husband, also not a good situation. This was more of a blow than I expected it to be.
I'm looking into getting into counseling and I'm going to try a yoga class this week. Today I feel defeated, down and generally over emotional. Tomorrow is a new day!
I look forward to getting to know everyone here. I wish none of us had to be here though.

I'm not sure where you live, but RESOLVE (The National Infertility Association) has support groups. Here is the link to their local page - https://www.resolve.org/about/helpline.html. There is a drop down menu on the left hand side where you can choose your state. I'm planning to go to one of their local meetings this month.
I'll give you a heads up - find out what version of progesterone you're taking. If you'll be using the progesterone pill that you insert vaginally, invest in panty liners. Lots of panty liners.
RE appointment & testing December 2013 - February 2014= Unexplained IF, possible endometriosis
IUI#1- March 22 (100mg clomid, 75 mg of Bravelle, Ovidrel trigger) = BFP!!!
*****Siggy Warning*****
Sidenote: I love yoga, and found it to be a great way to deal with the stress of all of this. I hope that you find the same benefit.
