Gifts for one year olds

So Js little friend is turning 1 and I'm just think about what to get her! People ask me all the time what to buy J and I'm always at a loss. Any tried and true awesome gifts for a one year old?

Smart trikes or something similar.. Personalized storybooks, personalized wooden puzzles, something for summer .. Beach toys, a baby pool, water table etc.

I like doing personalized things myself because no one else is likely to do the same. I do storybooks and puzzles and they are usually $20-30 from etsy.

My go to is an outdoor water toy (a pool float or sprinkler attachment for the hose) and water accessories (sun glasses and a wet suit shirt). I try to give like experience gifts for the family

For the love of all that is plastic, give them something to DO  I love, love when someone gives us zoo passes or something like that.  I have some family who thinks if you can't play with it for years, it doesn't "count."  They don't care that I tell them that nothing they give us will get played with for years, for one, and for two, the memories you make are worth so much more
