Officially in the TWW, IUI #2 was on 3/28. Had 3 mature follicles (23.5, 26 and 19.5) Keeping my FX crossed.

I am 6 feet tall, my husband is 6' 4", our DS is 6'3". So our RE said I could handle twins because of me height, lol!

PAIF Check-In: I was released from the hospital last Friday, yet there is still no answer as to what was going on with me. I feel a million times better after getting 14 pounds of fluid off!! Since being home I've kept fluid off and my BP has come down. Hopefully I won't have to stay on modified bed rest long! Later today I have a follow up u/s to check my girl's growth and I hope to have the Mat21 results this week. Thank you all for your good wishes last week. :)

    GL Mrs. McIrish!

Not too much to update.  We received our psych evaluation forms late last Tuesday and we had them filled out and emailed back by Friday morning.  I am still waiting to hear back from the psychologist to schedule the actual evaluation, I left her a message this morning.  Once our eval is completed, we have a few forms that need to be notarized and sent back and then I just need to have my prescriptions filled and we will be all set for our cycle.

I am finally seeing some signs of ovulation (my cycles have been a little longer than usual since we did IVF), so I should be starting meds for my cycle in about 2 weeks.

QOTW: I have a fraternal twin sister, but we look enough alike that people often confused us growing up.

Check-In - We finally get the results back from the egg tests tomorrow, after about two weeks of waiting. We're both outrageously nervous, and I'm trying really really hard not to get my hopes up, but I don't think its working.

@Astrabacus Good luck for tomorrow! @jalara48 I hope your parents get more supportive soon. Maybe they just worry about it still being fairly early? IDK really.

So, after the BFN, I was feeling rather shit. But I've got my next round of IUI booked starting on the 7th of April, and I'm hoping the experience itself is just as easy as it was last time, but that I get better results.

QOTW: I went to high school with 2 of my best friends. We lost touch when we all went to university, but 9 years after we left high school, we discovered we all lived in the same street - 400+ miles away from where we started!

Check-In: We're just waiting for IVF now. We saw our Surro at the weekend, and she was all hugs and crying and everything. I know its ridiculous, and I'm rather ashamed of it, but I got really annoyed at her. DD#1 ended up telling me off about it later.   :(

QOTW: I finally applied to get Norwegian citizenship yesterday!  I've only lived here for 20 years. If I get it (and I can't imagine why I wouldn't get it) I'll have to apply for release of my British citizenship though. Can't say I'll miss it. :)

MCIRISH I AM OVER THE MOON THRILLED FOR YOU!!!!!

    PAIF UPDATE

AFM: I'm really boring which is a really good thing! I'm almost 22w (holy crap, I seriously can't believe it sometimes) and nothing major to report. We finished our nursery and I am just so excited about it. I walk in there from time to time and just tear up. I'm sappy and can't really grasp that a real live baby is going to live in there. Seems like someone else's room and someone else's baby. I'm so grateful.

QOTW: I can't think of anything interesting about me. I'm boring all around! Hmm..... in high school I dyed my hair purple and wore spiked dog collars. When I tell people I know in real life that about my high school days, they laugh because they can't believe how different I am now! Rebellious teenage years, I guess! :)

Not much going on here. I'm 22 weeks this week and it seems like time is moving super slow and super fast at the same time. We have Gracie's cardiac echo next week and that( at least in my mind) is the last big test. After that, just monthly growth ultrasounds.
8/2011: Diagnosed with ovarian cancer, ovaries and tubes removed

    12/2011: Finished chemo

    5/2013: Cleared for DE IVF

    11/13: DEgg IVF#1

    8/5/14: Grace was born!

I posted a new discussion but I thought I would check in here as well :)

Hello! I'm JoAnn. My husband and I have been married almost 2 years and have been TTC since. Recently we found out he has zero sperm. We are seeing a RE and have discussed using donor embryos. When we found out there would be a long wait we decided to use donor sperm instead. I'm 34 so the clock is ticking to the 35 year mark. I just got the STD blood work results back they require you to do. I'm good there. I'm just waiting now for the clinic to call back with the next step. I'm not sure if doctor will want to do IUI or IVF. I have a little PCOS so I believe IVF would work better for me but I don't know. The RE I go to is a popular place and its like pulling teeth to get a call back. I guess its just a little lesson in the patience I will need for all of this. But my gyno recommended them. He said everyone he has sent there is pregnant. Can't ask for better than that I guess!

    @mrsmcirish you go! That's amazing!

@jalara48‌ telling family and friends is supposed to be an amazing time, I'm sorry your parents were so so about it. We are all thrilled!

Update- my IF's lawyer is hesitant to release the contract for us to sign due to my insurance coverage. Right now I'm waiting for my states health connector (mass) to get back to me about enrolling in a plan because my job doesn't cover me. So I'm enrolled in a state plan now, which is govt funded, which I guess is a no no in surrogacy. We are getting too worried about it now because I'll be enrolled in something else by June but it's still scary to think my insurance might decline everything and prosecute me for fraud.

I'm going to speak with my doc today because it's a traditional surrogacy and we are using my egg I think they need to cover me no matter who the dad is and how I got pregnant. We will see what he says about it.

For now, we've decided to go ahead with our home insem soon! I got my period yesterday so we should be two weeks out! Yay

Fun fact about me: I grew up in the punk/hardcore/indie music scene and was def a groupie! My goal was to make out with the singer of every touring band I saw. It worked most of the time. Well, one band, the sunder was married and I wasn't messing with that so I went for the bass player. We made out once in 1996, saw each other again in 2000, and got married in 2004!! And the singer of that band is now my daughters godfather And expecting a child of his own!!

Check-In: How is it going? What are your next steps? How are you feeling? We are still in the donor testing phase. Donor had her first ultrasound, some blood work & genetic counseling. Genetic counseling turned up that her mother was diagnosed with Crohns in her mid-20's and that the donor has 11% scoliosis curve. We are torn as we have friends that have suffered horribly from both. If we walk away from this donor we will be taking a few months break before researching for the next.

Well, I'm back in the saddle and hitting bumps in the road!  This is going to be long-winded, so feel free to skip.

I have lost confidence in my nurse, but because she is the same nurse my IP is using, I am hesitant to switch.  There have been a couple red flags (like the first time I called, she looked at the wrong calendar and said she wasn't my nurse, she put payment dates on my calendar even though I'm a donor) but the thing that really bugged me was a medication problem.  I'm on the mini-pill for myself, but fully expected to be switched to the combined (normal) pill, just for cycling.  Well, she did not get any of this.  I tell her I'm on the mini-pill, taking one pill of the same dose every day, regardless of where I am in my cycle, and she just wants to know when I'm starting a new pack.  Irrelevant.  It's just packaging.  All the pills are the same.  But she doesn't understand this, and keeps asking when I start a new pack.  Fine.  Then she calls me and says the doctor isn't very happy that I'm insisting on staying on the mini-pill, but can make it work.  What??? I insisted no such thing!  So she says, well, I already cancelled the combo pill prescription so let's just go with it.

Um, no.  The combo pill is way, way more reliable for cycle syncing.  Mini's fine for preventing, esp since we use barrier as well, but syncing? No.  I do not want my IP's chances at a kid jeopardized, and I especially don't want them jeopardized because I was two hours late taking one pill.  And I ESPECIALLY do not want them jeopardized because you don't want to call the pharmacist back!  So at this point I just ask to call the doctor.  I ask, she gives me the name, I ask for the number, she gives me her own number, I ask again for the *doctor's* number, and she says, "I'm her gatekeeper."  Luckily this was by email or I might have lost my head here.  O RLY?  Well I'm her fricking patient, so get me a phone appointment!

I ended up calling the coordinator of the entire clinic and going on a very polite rant.  Got to talk to the doctor and my combo pills are in the mail.  Downside, my nurse is now grumpy as well as incompetent.  Got to keep on my toes with this one.  And my last nurse was so great, sigh.

My IP doesn't know it, but she's lucky I'm her donor.  I've done this before and know when it's not right.

Tidbit about me...I grew up in a town with more than 13 churches and no traffic lights.  Population 1600, and twenty minutes drive to the next town.

@ArgyleBride - sorry you have a dippy nurse. This is just my IP perspective, but maybe it's worth a conversation with your IP. Maybe you can both switch nurses? Maybe she is also having issues, but doesn't want to rock the boat either. This is all incredibly complicated and you both deserve someone who is on the ball. Just my two cents!

There is so much going on! I've prepared to post a couple of time, but by the time I catch up with all the new posts, I run out of time.
Congrats to everyone with good news and exciting new frontiers! We have so many new pregnancies in the last couple of months and I think we're on the way for a whole bunch more.

    ***PAIF Update***
We're 10 weeks today. Last week we had our 9w ultrasound and saw both little Rockies move, which was awesome. They were both measuring within a day of each other and had strong heartbeats. We have our next ultrasound in a week and then the N/T scan the following week. We're still at the RE's office through the N/T scan, but since our midwife is a friend of ours, we've also starting those visits. We had our intake appointment 2.5 weeks ago and will have our first clinic appointment on Tuesday next week (I'm not sure what that appointment will entail). I'm still waiting for my referral to the breast feeding clinic so I can start working on inducing lactation.

I find it particularly fun that @jalara48 is exactly two weeks ahead of us. I feel like we get to get a snapshot of what we can hope for two weeks in advance for every step of this journey.

QOTW: I was an NCAA Div III national champion shot putter in college.
    ****loss discussed*****

We're queer. I'm 33, have severe stage 4 endo, and had both fallopian tubes removed. My love ("Manada" on the boards, 32) was diagnosed with diminished ovarian reserve. We did Partner IVF (my eggs, her uterus). We lost our twins Tavin and Casey at 21 weeks gestation.

    Our IUIs
with @Manada: IUI# 1-7 (December 2012- September 2013) all BFN. Tried natural, femara, clomid, puregon/follistim, clomid and menopur combo, both the ovidrel and HCG triggers.

    Our IVFs:
IVF #1 my eggs November/December 2013: Cancelled IVF due to poor response

    IVF #2 my eggs/Manada's uterus January/February 2014
BCPs and lupron overlap Stimmed: 1/22-2/2: Bravelle and Menopur (dosage ranged from B300 and M150 to B375 and M150 to B300 and M225)
2/4 retrieved 10 eggs. Endo was much worse than expected. Only 3 eggs fertilized; February 7 transferred two day 3 embryos, froze one. All great condition.
    BFP eve of 6dp3dt; Beta 1 (11dp3dt): 110; Beta 2 (13dp3dt): 175; Beta 3 (15dp3dt): 348; Beta 4 (19dp3dt): 2222; Beta 5 (21dp3dt): 4255
    1st ultrasound (3/6  6w 1d): TWINS!!!! Twin A measuring 6w1d with a heartbeat of 118bpm. Twin B measuring 6w0d with a heartbeat of 113bpm.

***July 18, 2014 we lost our beautiful babies at 21 weeks gestation. They were born too early. Tavin Sara T. and Casey Elizabeth T. are beautiful and precious and we will love them and miss them forever.***

    FET #1 December 2014
Intralipid infusion on Dec 10. Transfer of 1 day 3 nine-cell embryo into my uterus on Dec. 19. (acupuncture immediately before and after)
    BFP on Dec. 27; Beta 1 Jan 2 (14dp3dt): 665, Beta 2 Jan 4 (16dp3dt): 1859, Beta 3 Jan 6 (18dp3dt): 4449, Beta 4 Jan 10 (22dp3dt): 12,251.

Welcome to @curve31, congratulations to @Mrs.McIrish, and a woohoo for @Twinkie0612 on starting next cycle!

Check In: We've made tons of progress in the last week.  Our application was approved by Cedar Park and we were introduced to the social worker.  We're trying to schedule our visit, which will probably be in May.  I've been plowing through the paperwork like crazy.  Fingerprints go in the mail tomorrow!

QOTW: I'll tell you about my screen name :)  The emphasis in on MRS, because I was Miss Miller before getting married.  We coincidentally had the same last name and I had to do no name change paperwork.  I was actually disappointed, as it's such a bland name, but he's a keeper.

Hi everyone! I haven't checked in for a while, because there was nothing to tell, but finally, we are moving ahead! We have a transfer scheduled for early May and I am hoping (and hoping and praying) that this will be our THB.

GL to everyone cycling and (((hugs))) to those that need it.

QOTW: I have a go-to tidbit about one of my quirks - I always eat things in pairs, or if I'm eating something like M&Ms I separate them into the color piles first, then make sure there's an even number of each color by eating the stragglers, then I eat them 2 at a time so that the number in each color group is the same. My DH just shakes his head. LOL
