How important is this? My EBF baby would have to gain 3 pounds in the next 5 weeks to double his birth weight by his 6 month birthday. He's on the low end of the (horrible, frustrating) growth charts. His ped hasn't mentioned the need to double by then, but I read it everywhere. Ignore it?
I have never heard this! LO is double her weight at 12 weeks, but according to the chart, she was 50th percentile at birth (3000g or 6lb12oz) and is still 50th percentile (5900g), so it doesn't seem like she is big gainer, just average?
Honestly, if you baby is happy and healthy, that's all that is important.
My girls have tripled at 8 mos and are still in the 10th-ish percentile. I pay no mind to any of that because it just makes me anxious. I'm sure your LO is perfect!
