From the baby folds cleaning thread and from talking about baby wearing with a friend, I figured we could pool some collective knowledge and avoid making some mistakes.
Don't point your kid's hind end toward the diaper caddy when changing. I'd rather wipe poop off the wall than have to throw away half a pack of diapers.
Don't try to use a nose bulb to suction baby's nose while he is sleeping. It will result in hours of crying and fussiness. Also don't cut nails, don't wipe eyes, just don't do anything- let the baby sleep when baby needs sleep!
Watch your depth perception when walking through tight doorways. I think I've accidentally bumped all three of my babies' heads on the door frame at some point in their lives.
Don't assume what sounds like a little poop actually is a little poop. This morning, she pooped down her leg. It got all over her, me, even between her toes!

If your three year old is dusting, don't mention the baby might be cold. He'll cover her with his dust cloth and you'll spend twenty minutes de-dusting her ears.
Hold your phone extra tight while Bumping, Facebooking, IGing or whatever to avoid it sliding out your hand and smacking your kid on the head while cradling them (
I'm a sinner saved by grace and a child of the Attitude Era (Oh you didn't know?!?)

Also, remember to turn the sound off for middle of the night feedings. A random notification noise as baby is drifting back off can ruin your night.
Don't tell DH that you won't wake him up one night. He will take this as a free pass to sleep in the guest room, because tired, and you won't have help when you need it.

Cracking up. This has happened to me more than once.
