TTC after 35

2WW cut short?

Hello all! So I am beginning to get frustrated, and I am hoping someone out there has been in a similar situation and can offer some thoughts. My LP averages 10 days. I feel like whenever I get to my "2WW," it only lasts 10 days and then AF shows up. I bought some HPTs, but I've never even had a chance to use them... From everything I've read, 10 days is on the short end of normal, so I'm not sure if I should just be more patient, or if I should be concerned.

As a bit of background, because I've only been on the board a few months and I'm not sure who's familiar with me, DH and I are both 36, TTC#1 since I stopped taking BC in September. So far, not working with RE. Cycles are still a bit irregular, but longest LP has been 11 days. I honestly feel like our BD timing has only been good for the last 2-3 cycles, due to my irregularity. I'm not sure what to make of it (if anything). Any thoughts or advice from people in similar situation would be greatly appreciated. (Sorry this is long!)

  • Sorry my OP wasn't clear.  I was very tired when I wrote it.  Yes, I am temping, checking CM, and using FF.  According to FF, my LPs range from 8-12 days, averaging 10.  My cycles also vary widely from 22-33 days.  I guess I'm just not sure if I should be concerned, or give it more time for my cycles to regulate, since I stopped BC in September.  Thanks for your help!

  • I honestly don't know about the LP part (although I would probably want to investigate the occasional 8 day ones) but since you've been trying for 6 months (even if more effectively some months than others) I'd probably see my doctor for some baseline testing. Good luck!

    All ALers welcome!

  • @gscoville, I saw your instructions in another thread on how to put my chart on here. When I am in front of a real computer, I will try to do that so you and the others who are more familiar with the charting can take a look. Thank you!

  • I have the same issue. We determined the first time I was trying to get pregnant the reason my LP was 10 days or sometimes less was because my progesterone levels were low. During this time you might want to speak with you doctor about testing your progesterone. What was most likely happening was I was getting pregnant, but the pregnancy would not stick because of my progesterone. So right after ovulation (I used an ovulation monitor), I would take progesterone and it corrected everything. I go see the doctor for the first time since LO was born and I am assuming I still have the same issue. I hope this helps.

  • missjulierenee - thank you for your input.  I am starting to think I should schedule an appointment for some testing.

gscoville - I have a link to my chart now (I tested it, and it worked for me, so hopefully it will work for you, too).
