I think the baby wants out

I'll be 28 weeks tomorrow. We had sex earlier and I had three contractions. Ever since then (about four hours ago) my belly has been hurting. Not contractions, but just painful. And now I feel sick. I think she wants out. Has anyone else had contractions after sex? I don't think they were Braxton hicks from what I've been reading.

  • The only one who can give you sound advice is the doctor.

In my personal experience I do feel "off" and "uncomfortable" after sex. There are certainly a few BH sometimes after but I have gotten them often enough that I feel like I can judge if it is something more and would call the DR if putting my feet up and having some water didn't help.

  • it has been my experience that orgasm=contractions. at least every time I have sex and I always feel like shit for a little while after. but like pp has said if you're really concerned call your doctor.
  • Lol at that last one.
I only had the three contractions and I think I'm ok now. That was weird though. I've never had that happen before and it freaked me out. I have an appointment on Tuesday and I'll mention it to my OB then.....unless it happens again.
  • This made me think of the scene from Get Smart where the cone of silence malfunctions and Steve Carell shouts "LARABY WANTS OUTTTT."

I'm not new. I just hate The Bump.

  • 1) Yes it's common to have contractions after sex, especially if you had an orgasms which makes your uterus contract anyways

    2) You really should be careful of your wording in saying 'baby wants out'. I know you're joking, but we've had a few women here whose babies DID come out 28 weeks are less. It's freaking scary yo!

    3) Most OBs will have you call if you have 4 contractions in an hour. You should be ok but definitely mention it at your next appt.
