Cloth Diapering

Boingo problems

I bought some Boingos for my snapless GMD workhorses. I had a tiny newborn, so I have been using only one Boingo at a time straight across her belly from tab to tab. Now that she is getting bigger and starting to outgrow the newborn size, the tabs are getting farther apart and one Boingo is not not long enough to connect them, so I tried to fasten the diaper the way they are advertised, with one Boingo going diagonally on each side. It's not holding- what am I doing wrong?

  • Do you have a snappi? I've never used the boingos.

  • No, I didn't buy any snappis. I do have pins though. Which I'm not crazy about using, but I might have to until I get these Boingos figured out.

  • If you like the straight across fastening like you did with one boingo, you may really like the snappi. I think I read of someone cutting off the bottom one... Although I like the bottom "anchor" personally and never had an issue with it.

  • I agree that pins are awesome.

Our boingos fit weird for a while too. It helped when he grew a bit so we had more room to get them on tight. In the meantime it helped me to secure one side. Then the other. The go back and reattach the first side to be sure it was really snug.

This helps. I played around with them a little today and figured out a way to do one kind of straight across and the other a little more diagonal underneath. It's the fact that she's at an in between size- when I use two, she's too tiny for me to pull it far enough to create the necessary tension for it to stay fastened, if that makes any sense. Like you said just fiddling with both sides and trying different positions eventually worked.
