What in the hell?

We have this government homepage at work that comes up whenever we open up the Internet. Everyday, it has a new safety tip. This is today's. How in the motherfuck is backing a car into a parking spot safer? People backing into spots in the work garage ruins my morning 3 days out of 5. Only colossal assholes make a line of cars wait while they back their precious selves into a spot. I have many passionate feelings on this subject.

I think it's safer because when you pull out from being backed in, you can see where you're going easier than backing out.

The parking lot at my old job had concrete blocks to stop you from from pulling through and I have no idea why. I love when I can pull through at the grocery store, load up, and drive off (and return my cart if I have one )

DH always backs in.  I always pull through.  The worst is when you pull into a space just as the car in front of you is about to leave.  You sit and stare at each other awkwardly because you both want to pull through.

I am also terrible at backing up. I failed my first driving test on the "back up in a straight line" portion. My H always backs into spots. Pulling out is much safer than backing out, but I just can't get myself to try to back in to a spot. 

I also suck at parking in spots on my right. I am much better parking in spots on my left.

I don't back into spots.  I avoid it like the plague. 

I can parallel park like a champ but backing into spots can fuck off.

I got used to backing into everything when I was a truck driver.  You never pull nose 1st into a dock (duh) so you back into everyplace and of course you only have side mirrors.  I am a champ at backing up.
