**Warning Bad News**

This morning was my Make it or break it day with my RE. This entire cycle I have been responding well to the injections, and I have follicles that are right on track for retrieval. Only to be told this morning that I have to stop this cycle, and that I can not do the retreival. The doctor was hoping that while stimulating that the ovaries would drop a little more into pelvic region, but they did not. So I have these wonderful follicles that can not be retreived. Of course that has really made me sad. He wants to go in and see if there is a way to bring the ovaries down. He also said that my right is not responding as well as my left, and if he goes in and it doesnt look all that great then he will just leave it where it is, and focus on the left that is stimulating properly. I am sad and overwhelmed, because what started out as an IVF process because I had bilateral tubal obstruction has manifested into so much more.....

My question is has anyone had a procedure like this done before, and what was the outcome?

I'm a little worried about this as well, since they've always had a hard time trying to see my ovaries via vag-cam, as they're always very high the closer to ovulation I get!

That being said, I believe that they can do ER via laprascopic surgery? I seem to remember reading that when they first started doing IVF, that was how it was done. No reason it couldn't be done that way now?

Thank you all for the support. @tptbabe...I remember reading about it too. But my clinic here doesn't do it, and I have been trying to find one closer that might so I can get a 2nd opinion as to whether to proceed with the procedure or try an transabdominal retrieval, but I am not having any luck.

My right ovary sits very high and this was going to be an issue with my IVF since it was the only ovary really doing much of anything.  My RE said he would try but that I may have to do an emergency transabdominal retrieval if he could not do the ER safely.  It would have been a longer recovery and I was a bit concerned about that.  My cycle got cancelled so this never happened but I know it can be done you just need to find an RE that does it!  good luck!
