I wish I could borrow your nose

I smell my diaps after every wash, and there is always a smell. Not very strong (I'm putting my nose right up to the inside of my pockets), but it's there. Not barnyard or ammonia, smells almost like poo but not quite. U can't tell for the life of me whether it is just the way the fabric smells or what.

FWIW I use a top loader with Tide powder, short warm wash w/ no detergent, heavy hot wash w/ detergent, extra cold rinse. I've tried more and less water and detergent w/ no improvement or change. Any ideas?

Buy a new diaper, wash it with towels, smell it after the wash. Does it compare to the smell of your used diapers?

@Mandmeesh‌ - thanks for the suggestion, it smells basically the same, so I guess there's nothing wrong.

Gnome, your little guy is just SO cute. I love it when you post b/c it makes me smile to see B's pic! I know that sounds totally creepy internet stalkery, and I apologize. I just couldn't be silent about the cuteness anymore!
