Cloth Diapering

So flipping excited I got my first TTNN

I never thought I would be this excited about a plain blue fitted but I can't wait to wash it and get it on little man tomorrow. I swear he must have a bladder the size of a grown man as he has managed to leak out of his diaper and on to the sheets through an absurd amount of layers. Right now he has a Kissalove fitted with two hemp liners in a flip cover and I have little hope he will be dry in the morning. Despite how crazy bulky the TTNN is I am thinking of throwing a hemp insert in there too. I think I better finish knitting the wool cover to go over the regular cover.

  • I bet you don't need the extra hemp in your TTNN... It's the only thing that keeps my kiddo dry, I don't even need the extra doubler that comes with it.

Well last night he slept three hours less than normal and although it didn't soak through to the sheets (it would have if I hadn't changed him when I did) he managed to completely saturate two hemp inserts (hemparooz and geffin) that were laid inside a kissalove fitted. The fitted was also completely saturated and I am not just talking about the front but the whole darn diaper! I am going to try the TTNN tonight without any additional stuff but we shall see if its enough.

  • It'll be enough. My son is the same way. TTNN is the only diaper that doesn't leak.

  • I have three at home now. Two LT and one regular to try out.

So far I love the LT on my son. I need to get some wool now.

  • I've only seen them sold in groups of four on the TT website. Do they ever sell them individually? I' love to try one but don't need four.

She does stock individuals, but they are rare these days. Check the fans B/S/T for them. I know some people will get 4 packs and sell ones they don't want.

Lol I'll just look since babe isn't here yet and I have no clue if he's gonna be a heavy wetter (here's hoping not!). I've got some gently used WAHM newborn fitteds from sugarplum baby and some thirsties ones too. I've got 4 gmd medium fitteds and just ordered a mother ease one bc sew crafty baby has 10% off first purchase and common I wasn't gonna use that on just some sample cjs lol oh and I got my first rumparooz one size cover too lol

  • @MoFree I got mine through a pre-sale that I heard about on this board. I ordered 4 but could have ordered just one. The pre-sale gives you several options in terms of fabric color, stitch color, and stitch type. I can't remember if I chose snap color as well. The downside is that I had to wait 5-6 weeks for delivery.
  • Holy crap. $180 for 4?! Yup no worries over here about me buying them lol

People say this, but forget about resale value. TT's retain and sometimes gain resale value.

  • Turns out that the regular fitteds have plenty of absorbency for us. Two of our TT are TTNN, but I leave out the front insert.
  • I really want some, I need some extra $ before I buy.

I managed to wrangle Little man into it with all the layers and he was pissed, That may have had more to do with him being crazy tired for no reason but anyway I have hope. If it works I will pay crazy amounts of money/stalk the b/s/t page until I get two more.

Fans of Twinkie Tush Cloth Diapers Oh and it worked no leaks. It was wet all the way but he might have even been able to pee a bit more before it was completely saturated!

What kind of cover did you use with it? @n_koz
  • N_KozN_Koz member
Just my flip, that was the only one that fit but I need to get some more big covers as my thirsties size ones are not big enough to cover that amount of fluff. I want to knit some wool covers up too and am almost finished with one but considering how wet the outside of the front of the TTNN was I think I would have to have a bunch of wool as they would need washing every day.

  • I use either Blueberry Coveralls or Sloomb wool for mine. No leaks to be had.

  • I'm thinking the blueberry coveralls might be the biggest cover out there. I was hoping there would be something new to try ;)
  • N_KozN_Koz member
@Nana_Osaki06 I am buying a Blueberry coverall now. The size 1 cover I have from them is awesome just not big enough anymore. Does your LO get the outside of the TTNN wet and if so does your wool get damp? How often do you have to wash your wool covers?

  • I just sold my TTNN, fusion and little tush.

Regular TT work better and I've got 3 coming my way.
Crossing fingers the turned work just add good as surged.

  • I'm also starting to prefer the regular TT fitteds to the fusions. Though I have equal numbers of each. No TTNNs for us; we don't need that much absorbency.

My wool never really gets damp on the outside. They get mildly damp on the inside though. I just turn them inside out and let them air dry between uses. I wash and lanolize every 2-4 months. I have 2 wool longies I just switch on and off from. I haven't been using wool as much now that I have my coveralls though.
