Stupid question about adding pictures

I've never sent or attached a photo to any of my posts and last night when I tried to send photos of diapers for sale, I realized that I didn't know how.  It seems you have to create a url with/for the photo.  What's the easiest/fastest way to do that?  Can you add photos from your phone when you're mobile?
