Not sure if I posted this before, but curious. Is your child's father/sperm donor/etc. an active part of your child's life?

I will never meet my sperm donor, so no, he will, until my child is 18 anyway, he in it's life.

BD wants to be but currently can't.  He's in the slammer for felony DUI for about another month.

Everyone pretty much knows the story with mine but just in case...

He told me if I disagreed with his crazy custody/visitation proposal that he would not be a part of her life. He was supposed to come see her after she was born, then delayed it claiming doctors appts, then the second time when I asked him 48 hours before he was supposed to leave, he said he wasn't coming bc of the weather...although there was no snow, rain, etc in sight. He's a poor excuse and as of the moment, is not in her life.

I selected very active but this is new (separated for like 3 weeks) so we shall see...I hope he remains very active though. They love him.

My BD is a douche.  He has never seen our son, who is almost 9 months old nor has he given me a penny in child support.  I recently received the Final Judgment of Paternity and Support but apparently he doesn't care that the court is ordering him to pay.  Guess he wants to do this the hard way ....  Ugh!!

mine sees her for about 12 hours a week.....he takes her overnight on sat but needs me to come get her AS SOON AS im done working sun. he insisted on joint custody bc it makes him feel like hes actually taking an active role..... he had a work thing this weekend so he didnt see her and when i asked if he wants her on his day off he didnt respond.... the divorce is about 3 months old so we'll see if anything changes but i think this will be the new norm..... at least he puts SOME effort in. so im happy

I am only a few weeks in myself into this single parenthood but DS' dad has seen him maybe about 4hrs a week since he has moved out of the house. This Saturday he is suppose to "watch" him (I can not stand when a dad says that...).

He and I needs to come to a formal agreement on when he will "watch" DS. He is a truck driver so of course his schedule is not typical.

I haven't seen the scum since I was about 17 weeks pregnant, haven't heard from him since little monkey was about 12 hours old. Haven't gotten a single penny in child support, and he's ducking the financial paperwork, so the courts can't tell him what he's gotta pay.

I voted "no. not at all" like the current people who posted, he doesn't even pretend to care. He saw Liliana when we were at court getting the court mandated paternity test which he was PISSED at me for going to the courts and getting one and texted me insults about it to no end. When we were testing, he wouldn't even LOOK at Liliana and when she was staring at him and smiling at him, he dilebratley turned away from her. So no, he's not involved at all and I'm OK with that. When she was born, he didn't even respond to my messages at all. He only cares about himself but that's allright.
