My doctor the first time told me I was 4 weeks then I went back she said nine weeks .I have been having bleeding for the last two weeks and it seemed as if I had gotten no answers to any of my questions.so I went to the Er and they told me I was only 5 weeks and they heard the babies heartbeat . This is my first child and I'm not even sure when to make the next apt , I've been researching and it looks to be around 12 weeks.i feel as if I have no information I bought several books and I'm doing reading on my own but should your doctor also give you information as we'll. feeling overwhelmed

Based on the u/s you had, you are around 6 weeks today.  My guess is, you LMP gave the OB a date of 9 weeks.  

Go off what they told you at the ER.  If it turns out that you should be further ahead, then you are measuring behind and the spotting doesn't look good.  If you don't know when you ovulated, there isn't really a way to tell how far along you should be, other than looking at the size baby is now. 

Unfortunately, it's hard to date things when you have long/irregular cycles and aren't certain of your ovulation date.

What made her switch it from 4 weeks to 9 weeks? Was it based on any info you gave her? I would wait until they want to do the dating ultrasound before you say you need a new OB.

March 13 I took an at home pregnancy test .Then I went to the doctor on the 20th of March , she said it was too early to do a ultrasound and she did a urine test . She said I was around 4 weeks .A week later I came back because I was bleeding and they took a blood test and said it was still too early to do an ultra sound that's when she said I was 9 weeks. I then went to the Er because the bleeding got heavier on Saturday and they took an ultrasound found a heart beat and said I was 5weeks and 6 days. Does that help ?

I meant the 14 th was my first apt and I went back the 20th

They didn't tell me anything just to call back and schedule an ultrasound in a few weeks
